I have actually thought about different what-if scenarios. In the comic, Ford had a lot of restraint on his emotions, mainly protective anger. But if he had gotten there just a bit later, there would be no survivors.

there are ways of running java on chrome os it looks like, though i'm unsure how well things perform with it. if you have administrative privileges on your computer then here is a video on installing java, and jars are run with "java -jar <PATH/TO/JAR>" i am unable to test on chrome os myself and will not be able to assist any further unfortunately.
