Also @thespeedofsounds when you see that post about 'humans are getting ever more beautiful yr face would launch 2000 ships' do you ever wonder (if it's true in the first place(which I'm included to think it's not (but IF IT WAS))) if we actually are getting prettier or if it's just the change in art styles and what body type is in fashion over time. AND like the changing conception of what you're representing when you draw a human, I feel like the reason people are so pale and paunchy and awkward in medieval manuscripts is because of their understanding of the relationship between humans and the world and god. They look all wormy because they are, in the big picture, worms. No illusions there, they aren't there to be pretty so just draw humans as they are. Y'know?

i got distracted thinking how little of history has a 'realistic capture,' if you will, of how ppl looked bc clear photography. regardless, im compelled to place you around early-mid 1800s, especially when you rock the vest/ties

OH DUDE I KNOWLike how a painter (either Reynolds or Gainsborough, I've forgotten which) said there was something about Georgiana Cavendish that made her almost impossible to capture on canvas, and it's true all her portraits (by skilled painters) only look vaguely alike. Or how art styles can erase all apparent individuality out of a face, like how early (rural-ish) colonial American portraits are all round white faces with black dot eyes and you can't really picture an actual human from the image, but if you knew them and their face would you be able to see it in the painting, recognize them? This is something I think about A LOT.Also I am totally down for that time period (hopefully excluding the 1840's tho, some really appalling hairstyles that I want no truck with)

you are Entirely valid with thinking that with the french diction teacher thing, like there are so many things Not Okay with that and i understand feeling like, ..... .... since the [sort of?] crush thing But esp in a classroom setting that's weird.

Omg seriously like... The crush thing is almost entirely performative, and it happens to me all the time where I just pick a professor regardless of gender and if I INTENSELY value their teaching and think they are super smart and amazing I’m like “ok I’m in love with you now” but it’s almost never actually true. But Regardless like yeah, just... Don’t do that? Also I was DOING a midterm. Like not just class stuff but in the middle of a test. And I could barely concentrate after that. 

Seriously I’m so lucky that my PTSD is not bothering me to the point where it was just a little while ago. I would have jumped out of my skin. I still jumped and she was like “did I scare you? ;)))” but I would have like knocked my head against hers and screamed and cried. So I’m glad that didn’t happen. 

I actually have a counselling session with a doctor who’s like lgbt+ focused so I might talk about it with her.

somewhat scary to also consider our generation’s reaching that point where we’re getting closer and closer to pro ensembles and theyre coming to more social media and like? its like the 2nd cousin twice removed to getting a rt from nicki or smth

dude yeah....there was a conductor of the Baltimore Symphony following me for a while but then like. If a lot of young musicians find you racist, there goes your audience. I think musicians need to be more careful.

@thespeedofsounds that's comforting. In a lot of ways I feel bad about it. Maybe those tropes do get to me. I do think a lot about trying not to be abusive in asking for space.

thanks for your feedback everyone.  like, it wasn’t so much a “tell me i’m right!” thing as much as a checking in to make sure i’m not being an asshole kind of thing i guess, because i think she somewhat understands now, i don’t know, but i wanted to double check with y’all.  i love and value you all a lot, especially those of you who i have been mutual followers with for a long time.  and i wouldn’t want to upset anyone, even inadvertantly.  so, yeah, thanks, and i love y’all ok
