I don't know about you..but I'm feeling 22 :D No for real, as a kid I thought that Derek and Odette already had their coronation to be king and queen when they married at the end of the first movie...they get the crowns at least and Odette technically would be the heir of her fathers kingdom. But I already got confused when the second movie came around and they still referred to both as prince and princess.

Well, whatever they were, now it's official: in the 11th movie they finally have their coronation! And Odettes dress, once again, was very inspiring to try another redrawing. As you might know from my previous redrawings...I just don't feel "Odette" when she has short sleeves :D The dress is very pretty though! Yet I tried to take more inspiration from her look in the original movie and kinda combined elements of her wedding dress with her "This is my idea"-dress, while still keeping a bit of the flower theme of the official dress.

Another thing I just couldn't accept is her heart necklace being silver instead of gold. Maybe it's supposed to be another necklace, but I feel like Odette wouldn't switch that one out and rather not wear any necklace at all.

While I get that it compliments the look it still felt wrong. In order to have another gold element in the look I used the same color for the gems on her crown...which is also borrowwd from her wedding look aaand also has another backstory that I thought of which I will come back to in the third and last redrawing, so stay tuned :3

I just rewatched The Swan Princess and, truth be told, aside from being a dumb young man who panicked and couldn’t tell anything aside from beautiful in a confession (which sure, okay, let’s admit it, we all go dumb in front of Crush so, okay boy, you forgiven), Derek’s one and actual fault is that after meeting with Odette at the lake and learning there was someone helding her captive with a spell, he just went and set a date for the next day and left as the villain came closer.

Like am I the dumb one or should Derek have hidden somewhere to check on the situation before leaving for good? Who just leaves their love to the villain and given the opportunity doesn’t at least spy to make sure all is good and well? Not me. Not me sir, I would have stayed behind in a bush or something and would have waited for evil dude to leave and would have found a different solution with Odette.

Come on Derek where did you have to go so fast? Ball is tomorrow and let’s be honest here: you even forgot your pal! Let’s start using the Brain thing yes?
