Half way through the week! I hope your week is going well and the best is yet to come. I liked the landscaping at a recent job site I was at so on my breaks I went out and snapped some pics. Some times I think maybe the simple and obvious can be the most intriguing. Of course, since I live in a different climate / region I don't see this type scenery every day. That makes it unique to me and unique makes for interesting pictures. At least to those of us that don't see this every day. ;) . Jul 2021 . Here is a look at a less polished part of The Residence in Munich, Germany (Der Residenzen, Munchen Residenz). This spot is aside of the chapel area. If I turned around from here, I would be looking down over the chapel. In WWII, this portion was destroyed or significantly damaged (I don't know down to the brick and column which is original or not). Compared to the luxurious gold trimmed halls in other parts of the complex, this is starkly rough. I mostly liked the textures in these columns of rough and smooth bricks along with how I happened upon it at a time that the shadows cast in interesting ways. I'm just one that finds such interesting to view. I don't think most Americans are familiar with this "museum" of the old royal palace / residence in Munich. But if you like seeing palaces, I highly recommend it. We were free to wander at our pace through a rather large complex for several hours. As opposed to Neuschwanstein Castle where you're huried through a few rooms in 1/2 hour or less. This is possible because there are far fewer people visiting here. Granted, the outside of Neuschwanstein is magical, but if you want to see royal interiors, I recommend coming to Der Residenz. It's also within walking distance of the Glockenspiel and other downtown sites. . Oct 2018 .
