We Lost an Artist

Storm Thorgerson, British album cover designer, died on April 18, at the age of 69. 

If you don't recognize the name, you recognize the art.  Thorgerson's most famous design is Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.  Yeah...the one with the prism.  The photo that's above.

Thorgerson designed album cover art for Led Zeppelin, The Cranberries, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Europe, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Rival Sons and many other artists. 

Thorgerson and his artwork will be truly missed.

I've always had this theory that when people are talking about music and one person says do you know (insert band name here)...another person will say 'yes', and maybe even begin talking about how great that band is, but in reality have absolutely no clue who the band is.  I've always wondered if my theory was right and this video proves it!  I think people acknowledge that they know a band when actually they don't  to exploit that they are on the up-and-up of underground, independent or non-mainstream bands.  Basically, they just want to look cool and knowledgeable, but that's just a theory too!
