I had to giggle at the Man Who Invented Christmas trailer
because Charles Dickens acting out the ideas in his head when he's alone is what I do when I write. 😆😆😆
I wonder how many writers actually do that?

Writing takes you on a journey like no other. You can start out a chapter thinking one think and in the middle another thought creeps in and by the end everything went totally opposite of where you wanted to flow. This is life. As children we grow up thinking of how our lives are going to turn out way; only to find that somewhere in the middle of doing life a switch up happens. If you are like me you roll with the punches. But somewhere in the back of your mind you are plotting and scheming. We desperately ponder 🤔 ideas on how we can get back to the path we saw our lives heading. What if, the switch that takes place in the middle of life is there to place us on the path God himself design. The Bible says God will give us the desires of our heart, but this same Bible says that the heart is deceitful and wicked. How can we trust the desires of our hearts? What if the desires of our hearts are not what God desires for us? So my prayer is: God help us to see our heart's desires are not necessarily your God ordained desires for our lives. Learn to anticipate a switch in life and then move in the direction it points. . . #theswitchupdailyinspiration #theswitchupisreal #godsdesire #writingjourney #thewritingprocess #lifesjourneyiswithgod #writingprocesspost #transformationtuesday❤️ #transparencytuesday #authorsofinstagram📚🌴🌞🖋 #writingcommunityinstagram #caribbeanwriter #vincywriters🇻🇨 #writingday #3amwritings (at Brooklyn, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQK7aq4gpyz/?utm_medium=tumblr
Thoughts on writing
Writing even during the drafting process is still an enjoyable albeit consuming endeavor for me. It's a solitary but sacred time. It's exhausting but warms my whole being. I can shut everything down and just think and feel. It's equal parts frustrating yet euphoric.
ECL310 - Week 2 TUMBLR post
As you can see in the picture, the poster I have drawn up is explaining the process that primary school students should take when writing a text piece. on the side of the steps are small illustrated and written examples of that the steps refer to.
Better Writing Habits
My word count has been in the gutter for most of March (although if I'm really honest with myself, my word count all but vanished after NaNoWriMo). Distraction, anxiety, and stress have ruled my writing life and I'm done staying in the gutter.
In the summer of 2018, I struggled with getting my writing productivity high, and I figured out that if I wrote at night, the ideas and words flowed. I switched my sleeping schedule and became the king of all night owls. It worked for me. I finished a book and edited it. But now...I'm barely hitting the hundred word mark at the end of each night. Something has to change.
I'm adopting a new habit. The old one no longer works for me, so I'm starting over and building a new writer. For long time, I danced in the land of the dead, but it's time to join the living. [aka my dramatic way of saying that I'm switching my sleep schedule back to a normal one and will start writing in the morning.]
As I change my habits, I'll blog about my experience and what work and what doesn't.
What are your writing habits? Good Ones? Bad Ones?
Writing with Pasta
The title sounds like I’m doing some elaborate gymnastics with alphabet soup, but in reality I’m just brainstorming. The avoidance of writing my second novel has reached peak levels, so I’m doing something about it. Usually, ideas pop into my head and I write off of those ideas and fix plot holes as I go, but this time around, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do.
I have ideas for character and small snippets of scenes in my head, but nothing concrete or anything overarching that makes a plot. So, I’m trying something new. Writing with Pasta.
The goofy phrase (that I made up or at least I think I did. I may have pulled from something else) means that I’m writing down all the small pieces of my second book. Then, I’ll throw around a bunch of random ideas and see what sticks. Like I’m chucking spaghetti at the wall. Let’s hope it turns up something good.
