Here’s Violet Thompson, an OC from a WIP called The Villain’s Intern by @thewrittenpost

Been wanting to get into drawing Violet again (since she’s my favourite character out of all of thewrittenpost’s universes). So here’s Violet in her little high school uniform! Ready to absolutely destroy some heroes!

Since she has telekinesis, I thought it’d be good if she has a weapon that complements it. So I thought I’d give her a baseball bat, so she can telekinetically pull projectiles towards her, and then knock it out of the park (or into a hero’s skull).

Love to imagine Violet diving into battlefield in her sailor uniform with a baseball bat, ready to deal out some Little League blunt force trauma. Go forth, my morally-questionable child!

Blood, injury, swearing and alcohol CW

River is at my side in an instant, closely followed by the rest of my crew.

“No,” she gasps, her face growing pale at the blood leaking from my hands. “Holy shit, no.”

“Pressure,” I say, barely able to speak without aggravating it.

“What?”

River is then shunted out of the way by Blossom, whose large hands cover the entirety of the gash. Then he presses.

“Ow!” I shout, and River jumps.

“Back the fuck up, people,” Vera says. Their voice, deep and commanding, compels people to scatter out of the way so they can get to me.

“Aspen,” she warns me, taking her belt off, “this is going to really fucking hurt.”

I grab for River’s hand. She gives it. I take the leather in my teeth, and lock eyes with our medic. I nod.

That’s when she dumps alcohol over my open wound.

My teeth sink into the belt and my nails sink into River’s poor hand as I yell. It’s muffled, of course, but that doesn’t stop the heads from turning. My own head is swimming, and I see black spots for too long.

After what feels like a month, I regain the ability to relax my tense muscles. The acrobatic black spots in my vision return, but I fight them off with deep breaths and stubbornness.

When I can lift my head again, Vera is smiling at me.

“Attagirl. But we aren’t done yet.”

“What,” I say, panting, “could possibly be worse than that.”

“Well, now we have to move you.”

“Shit.”

Happy STS! If your characters suddenly became animals, what would they want to become and why?

Well, Lia’s already a sparrow shapeshifter, and Tybee and Gil are the titular foxes of Foxes and Fate :P And Kyle would LEAP at the chance to be a mermaid, even if it isn’t technically an animal :P

okay so i freaking love this song and this band, thank you for the rec and i’m about to go download all their music!!!

this feels like a nat song—it’s not the kind of thing she’d necessarily listen to, but the lyrics really fit with where her head’s at and how she feels about marcus in particular. 

i’m gonna pick something similar off her playlist—not what she listens to herself, but what makes me think of her. also because i’m feeling the nostalgia vibes hardcore lately, so enjoy some ym@6!

Happy Storyteller Saturday! Are any of your OCs associated with colors, and if so, what are they?

Happy STS to you, as well! I hope your day is going well. I know I’m enjoying relaxing a bit today. I just got a similar question with elemental associations, so this is a perfect companion to that! Most of these are the colors I used for their old post banners when I shared info specifically about them.

I can picture Royan being a soft blue color. Whereas the rest of his family might be a dark, deep blue, he’s sitting more on the lighter side. He’s not so harsh as his kinsmen, prone to optimism, a beacon in the midst of a winter wasteland.

Medea has always been blood red to me. She’s fierce, she’s passionate, and she’s got power over death - what much more do you need? Fun fact: she originally was associated with roses, and the thorns on them. I think she was the “Rose of the Desert” waaaay back when? So the color scheme has stuck around, even after that association has not.

Kasumi is a deep purple. While purple ordinarily signifies royalty, and Kasumi is related to the Genesai’i ruler, this is not why. The shade of purple I imagine is a pretty color, but understated. It doesn’t stand out when compared to the bright yellows and pinks of her countrymen, even of her sister. She fades into the background, into the shadows, where she thinks she belongs. But if anyone were to take a close enough look, they might find her to be the most beautiful one at all.

Carmila is golden, in opposition to her old banner color (which, fun fact, was pink). Carmila’s vice is greed, she’s aspiring to become a licensed merchant, and her story revolves heavily around marketing and trade. Of course gold would be her color!

Farukh is the brown of the dirt, the mud, the clay. He is what people always look down on, step upon without notice. But put all that soil together, mold the clay into a finer form, and you have a force that can overtake the ignorant and unheeding. He comes from nothing, but will become something.

Oeden is...white overtop of orange. Let me explain: Oeden is a character laden with prophecies and metaphors and secrets in plain sight. So when I try and picture one color for him, it doesn’t really work. He’s too complex! It feels like someone shrouded a fire with a blanket overtop, a veil not quite covering the flame within. He’s concealed indignation, a force waiting to be unleashed, the spirit inside kept tamed by the flesh. For a time, anyways.

It’s been months since I’ve gotten to write anything creative at all, but I’m really hoping to get back to it during the winter break! I think I want to make Gabriel have more bilingual fumbles. Or maybe I want to keep letting that story rest and I’ll work on Blood Song! Who knows!

STS! If you ever hit a block when writing, is there something non-writing related you do to try to get past it?

I’m the type who usually has to take a break when I hit that block. I’ll do some drawing if I’m not completely out of creative juice, or if I am, I’ll go for a walk or take a shower or something. Drink a hot cup of tea. Something to rest my thoughts so they can start up again~
