i feel like bruce and dicks relationship is so hilarious simply for the fact that dick is the fakest idgaf when it comes to bruce. I feel like a lot of people tend to ignore that while yes, dick would be the first person to call out bruce when bruce is being an asshole but he's also the first person to throw down FOR him. There are so many instances in canon in which he crashes out when bruce is in danger.

That's why i had such a good time laughing,smiling, giggling- when i read the catching tigers au on ao3 and then switched to your posts on tumblr. Because on chapter 2 when hal laid out the plan for the both of them, dick IMMEDIATELY goes on the defensive and offered to do it instead, bruce shot that idea down obviously,but dick having a "your not my dad!" moment is instantly more hilarious when i switched back to reading your tumblr post where he's actively crashing out on Hal-

Hal is right there with you, he's not laughing because he's the one Dick is crashing out on but he's calling Dick a fake idgaf'er bitch in his head the entire time

beginning years Nightwing is PEAK fake idgaf Dick and i set catching tigers in that era specifically because i thought it would be hilarious (and also the extreme angst and exploration of what Bruce means to Dick)

in my mind Dick firmly believes he's the only one allowed to give Bruce shit, and that includes the universe, so he's constantly ping ponging between giving Bruce that shit and trying to prevent anyone/thing else from doing so. he really needs some kind of foot support in those clown shoes he's wearing doing all that running
