yesterday I ran into a thread about "marauders era character perceptions" (another word for aesthetics+hcs I guess) and I laughed out loud multiple times. not a single character in the British school was just British. everyone was from three different cultures and it made absolute no impact on their characters 😭 like, whenever I try to come up with different nationalities for certain characters I try to fit them to their canon and try to imagine how being from a different culture might affect them, but I guess this version is definitely easier ☠️

Suddenly, a British boarding school where, canonically, almost everyone was white and British (and even those who weren’t white were still British) turns into some kind of international hub. It feels like something out of a Netflix series, I guess that’s the frame of reference these kids are working with when they imagine stuff.

The best part is that they only care about skin tone for the aesthetics. They couldn’t care less about the cultural impact of being a foreigner in another country, or not speaking the language well, or having different traditions and customs. They don’t even know what they’re talking about. I can totally picture the ones who headcanon characters like Remus as Italian saying things like pasta, pizza, espresso lolololol

Hey, Torchwood fam. What's with Jack and Ianto's stopwatch innuendo? I know that Ianto seems to have fun with stopwatches, and he says that you can measure anything with a stopwatch, when he's hinting at using it with Jack once they're alone in his office.

But... is there a bigger meaning that I'm not getting? Are they just measuring how long it takes them to get each other off? Or something else? Did I miss something?
