I suppose it would be handy to put all my stuff in one post. The name's Hella, that's what they call me. I write some stuff occasionally for Teen Wolf as well as AMC's Interview with the Vampire/ The Vampire Lestat and I'm currently obsessed with Heated Rivalry. I'm mostly a Devil's Minion kinda freak, but have been known to dabble with some Loustat, and Diabolicule. As for TW, I'm Sterek all the way.
Since I have a lot of written and podfic works I'll keep it brief and link you to my Ao3 profile that I set down over ...
HERE
Yep, there it is.
It's usually explicit. I like smut in my fanfic. Sometimes I like a fluffy little T fic, but mostly sexy stuff.
Consider yourself warned. Check the tags and read/ listen responsibly 😉
I may be tempted into writing prompts. Click that ask box up above and give it a whirl.
I don't believe in DNI. I'm here to interact. Ship and let ship. Mind the tags. Don't like, don't read. Blocking is your friend. And all that jazz.
This is the look of finally having your complex, repeated trauma acknowledged and treated with respect and love after several human lifetimes of getting dealt absolute billshit.
My Body Swap Thoughts Because I Can't Handle Two Years of "Daniel's Getting Bodyswapped"
Daniel Molloy is not David Talbot. Period. Full stop. End of sentence.
Daniel Molloy is Daniel Molloy. He has been handed some traits of David Talbot, in the same way that many other traits have been redistributed between other characters.
His David Talbot traits? He's old. He's the Chronicler. That's it.
Nothing about his character in any way is anything like David Talbot's (some people will argue he also gets the non-consensual turning, but I still maintain that Daniel will be receiving DANIEL'S book turning).
But there are two other characters who have also had David Talbot traits redistributed to them.
The first is Louis.
Louis is Lestat's companion and endgame. In a show adaptation of TTOTBT, there is no reason why they would not have Louis be the one to go on a rescue caper with Lestat. Daniel certainly isn't going to. They're not friends. I don't know that they're ever going to come back from Daniel hacking his head off.
The second is Raglan James.
Raglan James in the book is ex-Talamasca because he's been sacked for being a fucking freak. In the show he is still a fucking freak but he—like David Talbot—is a current Talamasca agent. Raglan is also apparently, by the time of the recording of The Failures, someone who Lestat considers a friend. Much in the same way that, by the end of QOTD, Lestat randomly, seemingly out of nowhere is besties with David Talbot leading into TTOTBT.
Now, some people are concerned that, because the last time we see Daniel he's squaring up with Raglan, he's about to get implicated in the whole body swap fiasco, but TO ME, that scene is all about Raglan having his lightbulb moment.
Personally I think that moment for Raglan, the confirmation of a soul, was the first time he's really considered that he could actually steal a body. The fact that he looks over to Lestat's head in the bag and then goes on to ingratiate himself in Lestat's circle, indicates that Lestat's is the one he wants (obviously, that's the body he steals after all).
All of this is to say that in the show universe, there is no reason for TTOTBT plot to involve a random third person who ends up permanently inhabiting an extra body. Is it a convenient option to have open on the off-chance they did need to replace Eric for some reason? Sure, I guess. But from all the vibes I'm getting, Eric is giving no indication of wanting to leave this show. Even in the Backstage Pass Short after the finale he's like, "I fantasize about the power of vampires, I can't wait to fight everyone". The man is locked in.
So no, Daniel is not "taking on David Talbot's storyline" in the show. He's being set up to fulfil Daniel's OWN storyline, that being the Devil's Minion arc. He merely has been given some traits that once belonged to David Talbot. As has Louis. As has Raglan James. A direct swap between Raglan and Lestat is all that needs to happen in an adaptation of TTOTBT. An extra body is superfluous.
I'm feeling irrationally defensive of this fictional character who doesn't have feelings that can be hurt because like... this is my guy. I watched this episode and was like wow this is my guy I love him so much all of his hurt little boyness tangled up in all of his monstrosity oh my god my heart my angel my baby and then people who have loved Armand for years are like that's not Armand, Armand would never say that, Armand would never do that and I'm like... I thought we all loved this guy
actually have nothing funny or snarky to say about episode 5. this is just actually the most moving and heartwrenching television i've ever witnessed and it changed my life. it changed so many people's lives. sometimes i'm like the hr hype is lowkey a little too insane and then i watch this episode and i feel like the world writ large actually underreacted to how legendary this episode was. i too would actually soul bond with francois, hudson, and connor if i witnessed this live in the dead of winter.
like i'm sorry rr/tierney ate with this....... like the idea that someone else coming out being the impetous for you yourself taking a big leap of faith too is so like. what being gay and in a community is about. like you just literally don't know you aren't the only one if someone doesn't come out and do something so ridiculously brave. sorry i'm being so earnest about this because i'm writing this mid tears. like that thing jacob said about how scott's coming out needs to be outlandish and loud to contrast the like quiet and tender coming together of shane and ilya. the problem with this show is that it's literally that good.
I will be MIA on here until Sunday or until a copy magically makes is way online again. But now with that leak of the episode I know I can't trust the spoilers tags and I DO NOT want this episode spoiled AT ALL. So until I watch it, have a good one 👍
