𝐔𝐍𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐃. / She were nervous, she couldn't help it; her question has been on her mind for so long, she were certain in wanting to ask him--maybe she were just nervous over the reaction. Michikatsu hopes she doesn't make him uncomfortable--but how long had they been living together? Surely Doma wouldn't be upset, right?
Shaking her head minutely, Michikatsu draws close to Doma, reaching out to take his hand in her own gently.
"I want to ask you something," she starts, feeling her heart pounding in her chest, "and it's okay if you aren't ready or just don't want to, okay? You don't even have to answer me right now."
A moment, just a moment to make sure Doma were paying attention, and Michikatsu finally says the question she's been harboring: "Will you marry me?" / @tsukkiakarii
and there was a notable pause from douma —— the answer came so naturally to him, and yet, he didn’t know how to say it. perhaps he’d been caught in this feeling for too long — barely able to forgive himself for actions he’d long since forgotten.
there’s a drift away from his eyes. he didn’t know what she saw in him. did she see something worthwhile? something entertaining, or flattering, or beautiful to look at?
that had to be it. there had to be some benefit — it’s how things always were for him.
“... … …” he doesn’t look back to her, he keeps his eyes away.
“—michi-chan,” her name spills out from him hopelessly, “—i really want this. i’ve wanted this for so long.”
“—i’ve wanted this for just about as long as i’ve known you — getting together, living together, getting married…” he continues to mumble, “—but what if i’m not good for you? what if you end up repulsed by me, and i’m only leaving you with a trapped feeling in your heart?”
“——do you want that? do you want me?” it’s only then he looks to her, “—i don’t think i want me.”
