People always say to me, "Bahamians don't support Bahamians" or "don't let people know your products are made by a Bahamian".. But I always look at them with amazement and say, that has not been my experience at all. From DAY ONE, the Bahamas has embraced @kurleebelle! So much so that I've seen comments online from complete strangers coming for Bahamian naturals who haven't used Kurlee Belle. In my opinion, the days of black crab syndrome or Bahamians not supporting Bahamians are gone. We see it online when they tried to come for #ShaunaeMiller (@hey_itsshaunae) and Bahamian Twitter attacked and told the whole world about they "ma" or when #BuddyHield (@buddylove242) got drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans and we (me included) took over the Pelicans page with the Bahamian flag and the word "conch"! I felt like I needed to say something to encourage young Bahamians who are thinking about starting a business but fear lack of support. I say this to you, "You can do it. We got your back." This beautiful photo was the inspiration for this post and was created and posted by a fellow Bahamian, #TheyCallMeTAP (@theycallmetap), who raved about how Jelle Coconut Styling Gel defined her 4c hair. #ProudBahamian 🇧🇸
