I gotta remind myself sometime about the cool shit my friends do and invite me into as well.  So glad I overcame the anxiety at the time to be in this super creative video of our friends band! Watching all the behind the scenes stuff was so nerdy fun for me.

I'm getting this up late, and I think April gets into festival black-out time, so there aren't as many shows happening.  Still, there's some good stuff going on this month.

vaselines-inspired vocals and solid 2-minute pop songs make the young evils a superfun show.  also i bet after seeing them you'll end up with a tiny crush on troy nelson and/or mackenzie mercer.  they are adorable *hip hop* Sat, Apr 13, 7:30pm, $16 // Sam Lachow, Raz Simone, Gift uh Gab, Dave B. @ The Vera Project internet dating isn't all bad; sometimes a date will recommend some music that's worth listening to.  such is the case of gift uh gab, a smart local mc *indie pop* Tues, Apr 16, 8pm doors, $21.50/$23 // Bat for Lashes, HOTT MT @ Showbox at the Market

i wouldn't recommend this if there were more stuff going on this month because i think bat for lashes is kind of boring, but if you like that spacey, light-electronic sound that's washing over a certain corner of indie pop these days, you might like this

modern dance companies compete for fame, glory, and beer. they are locking the doors at 7:15, so get there on time

lindsay fuller's stage persona is full of joy and her voice is full of pathos. if there is one local performer not to be missed live, i would say it's lindsay fuller.

i've been meaning to see the west, because one song on their ep was really good but i felt so-so about the rest.  but they just released their full-length and i can't stop listening so now this is definitely going to happen
