langdon and mel are in a "who will wake up first everyday" battle except frank forgets to tell mel and he's really competitive over it. initially, when they first start dating, he'll wake up an hour early to just text her good morning, then will wait 30 minutes to an hour after he knows she's gone to sleep to text her "ahead of time". always shows up to her place first with breakfast and a drink. whenever he sleeps in, it backfires bc his phone blows up from mel wondering if he died. she only catches on when they move in together and she tries to wake up before him so she can stare at him until he startles awake
