・ pov : what you’d see in the d10 victor village

༝ 𝒢συ∂α ! she’s the brown tabby cat. Gouda’s just past the kitten stage, having grown out of the wobbly legs and constant tumbles. Her favorite place to nap is my bed. If she’s not there she’s downstairs sitting in the kitchen window watching the wildlife. Compared to dottie, she’s an indoor cat who enjoys chasing canvas birds stuffed with catnip then adventuring in the district.

༝ 𝒟σттιє ! she used to be a barn cat but my siblings and I decided to save her from the musty hay filled shed. She’s a great mouser which is incredibly helpful in our house. She favors my brother which is shocking with how loud he is, how he grabs her and places her on his shoulders to stroll about. Usually, she is let out in the morning and strolls back in before supper.

༝ 𝐵ℓυє ! she is a border collie. Blue is one of the older pets, we’ve had her before I got reaped and moved to victor village. Usually she’s the one who rounds up the sheep or even chickens at the end of the night. But recently she’s enjoyed lounging inside more, which is alright because her pup, Palomino took over.

༝ 𝒫αℓσмιησ ! he’s far from perfect and definetly no where near being trained enough. He’s the latest addition to our family as Blue gave birth to him. The rest of her pups went to my aunt but we kept palomino. Usually we call him Palo, though he rarely responds being the incorrigible pup he is.

༝ 𝐹σχтяσт ! foxtrot is bernese moutain dog. He’s older than Palo but younger than Blue. He and Gouda are close, as close as a dog and cat can be. So when it comes to nighttime he and Gouda are fighting for a place on my bed. He’s a quiet dog, one who’s intune with human emotions and probably could be a service dog in another life.

・ those are the main pets that me and my close family own. we have farm animals as well, such as my sister’s chickens. The chickens are entirely Mabel’s because they are extremely testy to other people, most of which are strangers and, weirdly, my brother. We own two horses, one is a brown shaggy pack horse and the other is a big black Friesian / Clydesdale. Which means they’ve got that cute fluff around their hooves. The pack horse is used for going into town, visiting family, medical runs etc. And the black one is for more personall uses, recriational riding. Their name is twine, curtesy of my mother.

・ my neighbours, the Barrets, own a golden retriver named holestein ! (the one pictured above.) He’s such a sweet pie and herds their livestock for them (despite being a retriver). The Barret’s own goats and sheep, the sheep in victor’s village all tend to mix up but there’s a nice big older sheep who’s my favorite. Her name is Cu, pronounced ilke coo, which is short for culumus. Yes ! The big fluffy white clouds. The goats are owned by Posey, her and my sisters love for their respective animals is why they’re so close.

・ my extended family have a lot of horses, the faulkners have a big plot of land due to being in good favor with the peacekeepers in d10. There are a lot of cows, sheep, pigs, they are the typical livestock family of d10. One of my aunts collects stray dogs which become herding dogs or hunting dogs. So whenever we visit there is a lot of time dedicated to giving all the dogs their respective pats.

d is for . . . 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀・who do you turn to first when you catch word of some new drama in your chosen reality? do you have any drama you'd like to share with us?

・ for different levels of drama i go to different people, i sort this drama into…. d10 and then victor / capitol life . . .

・ if there’s any d10 drama my go to is my friendgroup which consists of katydid, rook, ciaran, calico, and maize (+ maize’s bf who’s adonis but i’m not really close w him) i’m closest with calico, rook, ciaran, and katydid. maize and i also aren’t very close because she can be very brash / jealous sometimes but she is a gossip hound, so if anything goes down, who kissed who, she knows. but it’s better to yap with calico, rook, or ciaran because they’re very emotionally intelligent. so you can complain about a person but not hate them yk? sometimes people think in a very black and white way

・ if there’s victor / capitol drama my go tos are haymitch, johanna, finn, cavalier, and giovanni. usually johanna though because she talks mean shit about people. haymitch pretends like he doesn’t care but he tolerates my yaps !! (very liz lemon and jack donagahy core from 30rock) finnick ofc knows EVERYTHING, so he can tell you what the next arena may look like, who’s sponsoring who, the latest capitol creations etc…

・ not much drama as of now, i prefer to keep things relatively unscripted so we’ll see when i get there !!

Usually I wake up around 8 am. My neighbor Noah is usually out in his backyard by then practicing with his sword. I’ll head over for a bit and sit with him and talk. He’ll occasionally force me to practice with him, no matter how much I refuse. Afterwards I have breakfast with my family. My sister, Mabel, collects eggs from the chickens and my twin brother, Asher, milks the cow. After breakfast I usually go out and water the plants. We have a few flower pots for decor and then raised garden beds that have genuine crops in them. If it’s the weekend I’ll then go over to Noah’s house and we’ll go to the lake. Sometimes he brings his siblings, sometimes I bring mine or we bring our friends/old schoolmates.

If it’s a weekday my father and I take patients from across d-10 and occasionally d-11. Usually we don’t take money as payment but if people offer food or material items we accept. If it’s a Thursday we go into the town and visit patients as well as stock up on groceries.

After seeing patients we return home and I usually sit down to do some of my hobbies which can be crocheting, embroidery, jewelry making, or pottery. A lot of the stuff around my house is homemade and I also sell some of my stuff at the market.

Next I have dinner which is important to my dad and he dubs it a “family thing.” So Asher’s cutting up vegetables and Mabel’s setting the table as Dad cooks or something. Usually my dad or I cook cuz Mabel’s scared of the stove and Asher can’t be trusted around fire in the house.

Then after dinner I gossip with my sister and brother about their days, about Mabel’s crush or Asher’s latest escapade. (he’s a trouble maker.) After I send my letters to my friends in the other districts, journal, or read from my books. I’m excited to see what Panem literature is like and look in my history books! Sometimes I’m packing after dinner because I travel the districts (with the capitol’s permission) to see Finn or Haymitch. Then I get to curl up with my cat and got to sleep!

Sometimes I visit my extended family which live in the ranching sector and nowhere near the victor’s village. When we visit we tend to visit for a while, typically around the harvest !! We have a massive family (i will make a post, trust.) and we’re very big on family so we have massive dinners together with all the extended family.

My different cousins drag me around and show me new stuff around the houses. And talk my ear off about everything happening with them. It occasionally gets isolating in the victor village.

On some occasions I visit my mentor Brie. We usually have tea and discuss whatever’s on our minds or what’s going on with the other districts. She also has a kid and a wife so we all interact.

༝ ∂σмєѕтιᴄιту ; watering the plants in my garden, collecting eggs with my sister, the rush of wind when i ride my horse, having a spot at my extended familys table, knowing all the secret hideouts in d10, reading before bed (specifically panem history books), writing letters to my loved ones, swimmming in the lake outside my house, collecting herbs and remedies for my district mates, making house calls with my dad, sneaking to noah’s house at night, listening to ciacadas, listening to thunderstorms, taking calls on my phone from my friends, the prickle of the grass when there’s been a dry spell, fresh bread for breakfast with homemade jam, holding my mentor’s baby, sharing secret knowing glances with my brother
