She did not in fact ever see this version of her boy again. 🙂💔
among the many details of the hunger games movies that annoy me (film 1's unbearable shaky cam, the gutting of peeta and katniss' characters, Haymitch being blonde instead of brunette, etc) the thing that always REALLY annoyed me was that Madge isn't in the films AT ALL.
Madge was Katniss' first friend (even if she didn't realize it at first) and MADGE gave Katniss the mockingjay pin, and now with Sunrise on the Reaping, Madge's absence is even MORE unforgiveable!! How exactly are they going to fix that for the new movie?!
WHYYYYYYYYY DID YOU KICK MY GIRL MADGE?! SHE DID NOTHING TO YOU!!
Hey can we please please please do more full day Hunger Games marathons in theaters when SotR (the film) comes out??
I think they might/will in some way, considering they rereleased “The Hunger Games” when Ballad came out. And then they ran the four film marathon for the book coming out. Especially with the mainstream buildup to the film next year, I’m sure they’ll do something similar.
But still. I vote for full re-run of all four films, hell throw in ballad if you want. Unless it's still too soon to rerelease that one.
hunger games ballad of songbirds and snakes was SO DELIGHTFULLY FUCKED UP FROM START TO FINISH. absolutely loved it. it was the exactly appropriate amount of horrifying. this is a movie about the villains and how truly fucked up their minds and motivations are and how that directly led to the Panem and hunger games we see by Katniss’s time. the few good people are quashed by the evil ones NOT BECAUSE OF INDIVIDUAL VILLAINY but because the SYSTEM is so horribly corrupt and oppressive and individually they can’t change those systems and it’ll take until the massive collective efforts in the second rebellion for that to happen. Snow is humanized without ever being redeemed; it shows he was not born evil but went from this traumatized little kid to a conniving calculating bastard man willing to cast off said humanity for the sake of his ambitions of power and control. CONTROL - the books hit this home, but a sense of control is what makes him feel powerful, as someone who grew up under the shadow of war watching people starve in the Capitol streets and he himself going hungry for most of his life. and then the movie takes all that into account and shows what he becomes and says “cool motive still murder.” it was so well done I’m losing my mind
Hey, does anyone remember how the casting department for THG films literally said they didn’t want anyone other than white actresses to audition for the role of Katniss? And also how J.L wanted Katniss to have blonde hair?

I don’t really fw the Hunger Games movie adaptations since there are a million things to rightfully criticize and nitpick-but one thing that sticks with me, that really sticks with me, is that scene in Mockingjay Part 2 where Katniss is coming up to the City Square in the Capitol. The dread of seeing all those people-all those children reach out to grab the parachutes, expecting aid. And even before that, just seeing all those people (children) rounded up together awaiting something, feels all too familiar.
