Thin Line.
Some fan art I made for my dear friend 'The reader's friend'
She's rewriting a fanfic of a Ninjago au called 'Thin line' on Quotev! It's really amazing so if you want check it out!
(some of the art are spoilers in someway???? Not really but I'll put them under the cut)
Dream of a goth girl walking the thin line of her life in her journey to reach the top of the pyramid of her life goals to defeat the demons from her nightmares and emerge victorious on her quest to happiness and enlightenment

" Who has never killed an hour? Not casually or without thought, but carefully: a premeditated murder of minutes. The violence comes from a combination of giving up, not caring, and a resignation that getting past it is all you can hope to accomplish. So you kill the hour. You do not work, you do not read, you do not daydream. If you sleep it is not because you need to sleep. And when at last it is over, there is no evidence: no weapon, no blood, and no body. The only clue might be the shadows beneath your eyes or a terribly thin line near the corner of your mouth indicating that something has been suffered, that in the privacy of your life you have lost something and the loss is too empty to share. "
'House of Leaves', p. 543 by Mark Danielewski
Does anyone have any good non-fiction writing/essays on the thin line between love & hate/lust & violence? It’s been plaguing me for weeks because all of my fave media has this trope when done well, and it’s so prevalent in monster media as well

QOTD :
What was your worst job?
Ohhh this is an interesting question. I tend to romanticize the jobs I've had once I've left them.
There was the bank, where I had to balance rich people's checkbooks for them while being yelled at for taking too long -- but I also had customers bring me gifts at Christmas and serenade me on my birthday.
The hotel, where people bitched about literally any and everything that could offend them from the smell of fresh coffee in the lobby to the color of the walls-- but I also heard the coolest travel stories and met people from all walks if life who genuinely got excited to see me again and update me in their lives.
All of my jobs have involved customer service and that's always fraught with bullshit, y'know?
But I think the worst one is the only job I ever quit. This year I worked for six doctors as an assistant. They made me a 1099 contractor but didn't let me set my own hours and in fact demanded way more hours than a normal 9-5. None of them knew how to utilize an assistant and none of them communicated with each other about the tasks they had assigned me. They wanted me to use chatgpt to write articles about topics I didn't even have a base knowledge of and also never invited me to the staff meetings where my assignments could have been discussed. It was awful and confusing and made me doubt my ability to do anything without messing up. Do not approve.
A show during Thin Line fest in Denton I helped put together that I designed the flyer for
