I love that Umbrella Academy was kept to a 1-season tragedy. It got everything done that needed doing- fit a good load of complicated character moments for every main, and threaded reality with the bizarre and hilarity with weight in such a beautiful way. Ending it on a cliffhanger really drove home the point that it couldn’t have ended any other way, (as well as gave hope! which was, I think, the point of Five, and TUA in general in a ‘doing their fucking best’ sorta way) and it’s so nice to see that it didn’t just go on and on until it stopped making money.

I also love that they did that with Arcane.
