Whomst among us is still playing Borderlands 2 on PC and do they want to hang with ya boy
First thing in the morning after arriving at NOVA entertainment, you receive a message to go to the main office right away. You make your way over and, upon arrival, are called into the room before you even have a chance to sit down. Hyun Bin awaits behind his desk, and nods toward the empty chair across from him with what might be the smallest hint of a smile. The seat next to yours is already occupied by a contract lawyer that might be familiar to you now, after previous time spent in this room over contract papers. She smiles a bit and nods by way of a greeting as you take your seat.
“I know four years is a long time to train,” Hyun Bin acknowledges, folding his hands in front of himself and looking directly at you. “You’ve worked incredibly hard in that time, and I don’t want you to think that effort has gone unnoticed. Everyone here at NOVA, myself included, is grateful for your dedication to the company.” Despite the nature of the words, they lack warmth-- as formal as always.
“There’s no need to drag this out,” he says. “There’s no need to waste four years of everyone’s time by parting ways now. I’d like to offer you another two year contract with NOVA entertainment, and more chances for success under our company.” With that, he doesn’t say another word. He simply slides the papers of your new contract toward you, along with a NOVA Entertainment branded pen, and waits expectantly.

[ DATED JANUARY... 18 2018 ]
This is it. This is the end. The trek up to Hyun Bin's modern day steeple is no less daunting than it was four years ago, two years ago. He's taller now, older, but only by pebbles, not enough to change his distance to the proper elevator button or from the elevator to his office. He realizes halfway there that his hands are shaking. He hasn't eaten today. Did he eat yesterday? He'd been so busy counting down to this moment, getting lost in numbered eight counts every thirty-four seconds. There was no time to eat among five six seveb eight twenty-two twenty three twenty four years into zero with the swipe of a pen- He'd ignored a phone call from his brother, and his father, accidentally on purpose left his phone in his locker...or on his nightstand, somewhere he won't remember it, somewhere where it'll let him disappear from the world in peace while he processes the inevitable demise of his career, of his future, of his everything.
He can't tell what's behind the flat smile on his contract lawyer's face but in his painfully overactive imagination it's pity, exasperation, absurd and unimaginable relief to be rid of him.
I know four years is a long time to train.
He doesn't hear much of his CEO's speech after that. He hears how much he's aged over the past four years, how much failure he's taken on, the sickness that follows him everywhere lile a sticky, tarry shadow. He thinks of all the reasons his dream company, his home, could, and would, drop him without a thought. He doesn't blame them, knows he must be a disappointing, stale shell of the boy who won over the nation on a television show four years ago. What will he do after this but be swallowed whole by obscurity until he's crushed into nothing under the weight of it?
...more chances for success under our company.
There's a long, solid pause as it sinks in, filling the room like smoke. They're asking to have him back, to keep him, and it's only registering moments after the hefty contract is pushed across the desk toward him. The lawyer starts to ask him if there's anything he'd like clarification on, any clauses he'd like to alter, questions that had once been reserved for the adults who raised him. He's already reaching for the heavy NOVA branded pen, turns a mix of bright red and sheet white when it slips from shaky fingers and hits the carpeted floor with a resonant thud. The lawyer smiles that flat smile (the flatness is just her face, he realizes, but this time it might really be pity behind it) and offers him her pen, spares him the embarrassment of crawling across the floor in front of his CEO to retrieve the original.
His signature on the document is a scribbled, unpracticed mess in comparison to the one he spent hours perfecting to scrawl across shining Wave albums. He initials here, signs there, initials, initials, signs, initials, signs, initials, signs, signs, initials, signs.
He is safe. He is still wanted. He is still safe and wanted and loyal and relieved.
"Thank you," he finally utters in a low, awestruck voice, standing only so he can bow past ninety degrees without bumping his head on the desk, first to Bin then to the lawyer, then to Bin again. He will /not/ cry. Not here.
"Thank you for giving me another chance, sajangnim," he continues, gaze down and respectful, then tentatively up to meet the man's gaze, "I know I'm lacking, I know I'm disappointing, but I'll do better. I'll be better. I'll be better than I've ever been."
Thank you, whispers a voice somewhere in his subconscious, unheard even by himself. Thank you for saving my life.

OOC NOTE: It’s already been four years! Time flies, but we know that’s a really long time, too. We’re so thankful for all the time you’ve dedicated to Rookies. You and Ricky are an important part of making Rookies what it is. Congratulations on making it here, and on four years as a trainee! When you are ready, feel free to post this prompt with Ricky’s response to it.
Should Ricky choose to RENEW his contract with NOVA, he will sign on to the same agreement as before for another two years. As a reward for making it this far, he will receive TWO WEEKS unpaid vacation time to use in the next six months, so long as it doesn’t clash with any special trainee activities. The company’s only request is that he not miss more than 10 consecutive days of training.
Should he choose to REJECT his contract with NOVA, he will leave the company, effective immediately upon rejection. He will be able to keep all of his debut points, but will not be able to take any trainee workshops or earn any more debut points/workshop points until he becomes a trainee again. Should he become a trainee at a new company, he will be considered a junior trainee all over again, even though he will still have his debut points and would be eligible for debut right away. He WILL have the right to audition for NOVA again, but the fact that he gave up a contract renewal WILL be taken into account in final casting decisions.
He will have up to one week to make her decision IC, meaning that if he does not make a decision by JANUARY 25th, he will automatically be cut from the company. Exceptions can be made for those on hiatus.
Real convo that happened
