Preference: Your First Fight.
Darry: You two fought about you wanting to move in with him. He insisted that you were better off with out him and you just got so frustrated that he always said stuff like that because you really loved him and couldn’t see yourself without him. You were both pretty stubborn thought so you didn’t talk for a whole week. You weren’t planning on talking to him either until you slipped and fell in the shower. You were pretty sure you did something bad to your wrist and you didn’t know who else to call to help you do you called him. When he came over you two finally worked it out.
“Jeez, Y/N, what the hell happened?” Darry demanded when he burst into your bedroom and saw you sitting on the bed. You had somehow managed to get yourself dressed despite the pain in your arm and you had just been sitting waiting for Darry after you called. It had only taken him five minutes to get to your house. He was so worried when you called saying you hurt yourself that he sped as fast as he could.
“I slipped in the shower.. It.. it’s not that bad, okay? I just need help wrapping it up.” You stated and shook your head, looking away. “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have called you-”
“No.” Darry said and tilted your head to look at him. “You always call me if you need help.”
“I wouldn’t have to call you if I lived with you.” you muttered and he gave a frustrated sigh.
“Look, can’t we just deal with one damn thing at a time?” he asked and stood up. He went into your bathroom and pulled out the first aid kit to get a wrap for it. He was hoping it was only sprained and that this would help it. He tried to be as gentle as possible when he wrapped it tightly and after he was done he got you an ice pack for it and some pain killers.
Darry sat beside you and was silent for a long time. “You’re to good for me.” he said finally, breaking the silence.
“No, Y/N. Just listen. You are to good for me. You’ve got a future ahead of you. My life isn’t going anywhere anymore. I’ve got to work and take care of my brothers and you shouldn’t have to deal with that. I don’t think you understand-”
“No!” you snapped. “I don’t think you understand, Darry. I love you. I love you and I love your brothers and the future ahead of me is nothing if you’re not in it. I want to move in with you. I want to help you take care of them and I want to help take care of you. Because I care about you. And I want to be with you for as long as you’ll have me. So don’t give me that crap about ‘I’m not good enough for you’ because I’m a grown woman. If I didn’t want to be with you I could have made that decision on my own a long time ago.”
You weren’t usually one for a lot of words. Especially angry ones so Darry just stared at you for a long moment before standing up. “Let’s get some of your stuff together,” he said “I don’t want you staying here alone with your wrist hurt.”
You looked up at him. It wasn’t exactly what you were hoping for but it was a start. And you knew with Darry that this was a step in the right direction. He helped you up carefully and helped you pack some things. On the way out the door you kissed him softly on the cheek.
Sodapop: You fought because of a girl you saw throwing herself at him. You didn’t usually mind that kind of stuff, you knew all of the girls thought he was cute but you trusted your relationship with Sodapop. But one day at school one of the girls in your class ganged up on you with her friends calling you horrible things and asking why Sodapop would even be with you. And when you went to see your boyfriend at the DX after school and saw that very same girl hanging on him you were pissed.
Sodapop followed you as you stormed out of the DX. You were walking fast and were halfway down the parking lot when he caught up to you.
“Y/N.. Hey, stop, Y/N. What’s wrong?” he asked grabbing onto your hand gently to stop you. You just yanked your hand away from his.
“What’s wrong? You let those girls flirt with you all the time and never try to stop them. Did you ever think about how that might make me feel?”
“I don’t ask them to do that. And you always say that you understand so why are you getting all mad now?” Sodapop asked with a frown as he started to get frustrated.
“I’m not mad!” You snapped.
“Well you look pretty mad to me!” He yelled at you.
“I’m not mad alright! I just wish you would respect me a little more and tell them to back off.”
“You think I don’t respect you? I always tell them to back off, Y/N and you always tell me it’s fine! You’ve never cared about this before so why now?! Do you not trust me?”
“Of course I trust you!” You practically screamed.
“Then what’s the problem?” he demanded. You flinched a bit at his town and looked down. You already felt embarrassed for yelling, and in such a public place too.
You lowered your voice as you spoke. “It’s because I’m ugly.”
“You’re what?” he wasn’t shouting anymore either but he was frowning and looked confused.
“No.” he shook his head walking closer to you. “I heard what you said. I want to know why you think that. What put that idea in your head.”
You sighed deeply and kept your eyes on the ground. “That girl in there.. She said some things to me today at school. She was asking me why I was with you and it got me thinking.. Why are you with someone like me when you could be with someone beautiful like her.”
Sodapop was silent for a long moment before he pulled you in to hug you tightly. “I wish you could see yourself through my eyes, Y/N. And then you would know that you’re the most beautiful girl in the world. And you would know that the only girl I ever see is you.”
Ponyboy: Ponyboy and you first fought over the fact that he said something rude to a girl. His friends were all dirty talking some girl at the drive-in and they kept egging him on so he said something that made your jaw drop. You immediately took off his jacket that you were wearing and threw it at him. As you stormed away you could hear all of his friends giving him crap and teasing him for making you mad so you turned to glare at them before continuing to go. He didn’t try to follow you but he showed up at your house the next day to apologize.
You saw your boyfriend Ponyboy standing at your front door as you came to see who knocked. He was standing there looking sheepish and holding some yellow wildflowers in his hands.
You approached the front door and opened it but you left the screen door closed between you as you stood there with your arms crossed waiting for him to speak.
“Y/N..” Ponyboy said looking at you thoughtfully. “I’m so sorry for saying those things to another girl while I was with you. And I’m so sorry for what I said. I know it was wrong and I didn’t mean it and I just.. I’m sorry.”
You were still giving him a hard look through the screen. “Do you think those things dirty things about me, Ponyboy? Do you think of me as some no good thrill?”
“N-No!” He stammered and shook his head. “Gosh, Y/N, I feel like a complete jerk. I do. They just.. Sometimes I get so caught up in the moment with my friends. I’m so used to them talking like that and it’s the only thing I’ve ever known but I.. Look, I’m not making excuses for myself. I really am sorry. And I’d like to make it up to you if I could.” he murmured and shifted the flowers out in your direction.
You stared at them for a long moment and opened the screen. You took the flowers and then closed it again. “Come back tomorrow and we’ll see how I feel.” you told him.
Ponyboy nodded quickly. “Thank you, Y/N. For even considering giving me a second chance.”
You nodded a bit and sent him off before going up to your room. You knew you were going to take him back but you figured a day of worrying would teach him a good lesson.
Two-Bit:(some swears in this one) Your first fight with Two-Bit was about his drinking. You and him had been drinking one night and he promised you he wouldn’t drive home but he did. When he wouldn’t answer your calls you went to his house and yelled at him for making you worry.
You were standing over your boyfriends bed with him laying on top of the covers in his clothes from the night before. He was snoring loudly so you shook him awake.
He smiled up at you once he woke up a bit more and realized it was you. “Hey, doll. What are you doing here?”
You were glaring at him and your arms were crossed but you moved them to smack the side of his head gently. “You are such an asshole.” you snap. He frowned and sat up.
“Y/N..” he said with a frown as he reached for your hand but you pulled it back.
“No. Don’t. You know I love you. I love you so damn much it’s like I don’t know what to do with myself sometimes.” You yell and reach up to angrily wipe away tears you hadn’t realized started falling. “I asked you not drive. You promised! You promised me.”
“Y/N,” Two-Bit tried again. “I-”
“No! Stop talking just stop. I was worried about you! I was worried sick and you.. You have no respect for me! If you did you would have kept your promise. Or at least you would have picked up the damn phone when I called you!” You were stumbling on your words by the end and you hated that your tears were flowing steadily from your eyes. You were angry but you couldn’t stop thinking about how worried you had been about him.
Two-Bit stood up and hugged you tightly. You didn’t try to hug him back right away but you couldn’t help it.
“I’m an asshole.” he said.
“You’re an asshole.” you cried and he just hugged you close.
Dally: You and him fought over little things all of the time but they surprisingly never escalated. Your first real fight was over the fact that he’ll never change. It was in the heat of the moment you were just bitter about the fact that your sister was getting married. You realized that you were wrong to yell at him and you would apologize to him after and make up.
You and Dally were on his bed at Buck’s, both of you laying back and he was smoking a cigarette. You hadn’t spoken for an hour since you both had stopped screaming at each other. You didn’t know where you stood with him but you knew you felt guilty about yelling at him. You sat up and buried your face into your hands. He sighed deeply and sat up beside you.
“Doll..” he said and put out the cigarette before wrapping an arm around you. “Jeez. Don’t.. Don’t cry, okay?”
“I’m not,” You say lifting your head. “I just.. I’m sorry.”
“You’re sorry?” He frowned in confusion. You both looked up at each other and you nodded.
“I’m sorry. Look, Dall, I love you. I love you and all that stuff I said about you.. you getting a job and being someone useful.. I didn’t mean all that, okay? You are useful because you make me happy. I don’t care about all that other stuff. I just thought I did because of how much my sister brags about her guy but that’s the thing. He’s her guy. Not mine. You’re my guy. And I love you the way you are.”
Dally pulled you closer to him and you wrapped his arms around his waist. He kissed the top of your head gently. “You know.. You don’t have to be sorry. You’re right. Look, I know that I’m bad news. I’m a hood. That’s how it’s always been and that’s how it’s always gonna be. I just.. I don’t know how to change, Y/N. I spent my whole life being raised to survive on the streets. It’s the only way I know. And I like who I am. I don’t like to think about the future.”
“Then we don’t have to.” You said hugging him tightly. “Let’s not talk about the future. I don’t care about it either. I care about what’s happening now. And what’s happening now is that I’m in love with you Dallas Winston.”
“I know.” He smirked and pulled you into a kiss.
Steve: Steve and you fought over the fact that he doesn’t ever say what he feels. He always leaves you guessing about your relationship and you were sick of the guessing that he always left you doing.
“I love you..” You said smiling up at your boyfriend Steve. Your arms were wrapped around his waist as you sat in the front seat of his car.
“I know..” he replied with a smile and you immediately pulled back.
“What the hell?” You frowned. Your previous happiness quickly left you and you felt the anger you usually suppressed with him slowly coming to the surface.
“You said ‘I love you’ and I said 'I know’.” Steve laughed a bit as he tried to pull you back. You weren’t letting him. “What’s so wrong with that, doll? I know you love me.”
You flinched at his words. You felt tears coming to your eyes as you glared at him. “If you even have to ask that question then I don’t know why I’m still going out with you.”
A look of confusion crossed his face. “What? You just said you loved me, Y/N. Why the hell are you being like this?”
“Figure it out, idiot!” you snapped at him as you slid out of his car and slammed the door.
Johnny:(small reference of abuse in this) Johnny and you fight because you complained about your parents grounding you and he got upset at that. You wouldn’t yell at each other because Johnny never yelled at you because he knew how awful it felt to be screamed at. He would ignore you for a day or two though while he cooled down. Ultimately you would apologize because you know you should be grateful to have two good parents and Johnny would forgive you in the end.
You sighed deeply as you sat down next to your boyfriend Johnny at lunch one day. You had been out past curfew the night before by accident with him and your parents had grounded you for the weekend making you unable to attend the party that your best friend was throwing.
When he sit beside him and start pulling out your lunch you talk to him, ranting. “I can’t go this weekend anymore. My parents grounded me because we were out late last night.” You tell him. “You know I just can’t believe them sometimes. I’ve been helping plan this thing for weeks and they take it all away just like that! I’m a good kid and I come home late one time and they do that.”
“I got home late last night too, Y/N.” You heard Johnny mutter beside you. You had yet to look at him as you spoke.
“Did you get grounded too?”
“No.” Johnny frowned. “They just beat me instead.”
Your heart felt like it froze in your chest as you remembered. You opened your mouth to apologize as you turned your head. Johnny was already standing up to walk away but you caught a glimpse of his black eye and split lip before he turned.
You called his name and tried to follow after him but he just brushed you off. You sat back down and buried your head in your hands as you silently yelled at yourself for being so stupid.
