2025 AO3 Wrapped

Words Posted to AO3: 107,733

Total Words Written (According to 4thewords): 111,161

I posted ~18k fewer words than last year but also wrote ~94k less overall. So compared to 2024 there's a much smaller difference between my written and posted numbers. And a lot of my unfinished drafts from 2024 are still unfinished. I'd like to get more of them finished and posted in 2026. My writing goal for this year was 250k, which would have been a ~50k increase from 2024, something that felt reasonable considering I had slowed down in the last quarter of 2024. I realized pretty quickly that I wasn't keeping up with that goal, so I've had a while to get used to the idea, and I'm not upset with it! Looking at my 4TW stats, I spent about half as much time writing in 2025 compared to 2024, and my wordcount reflects that. My 2024 goal had been consistency, and the difference when I stopped focusing on trying to write every day is clear. Not necessarily a bad thing! But clear. I still posted over 100k this year, so I can be proud of that!

Overall, I feel like this was a pretty okay year, writing wise! There are definitely things I wanted to finish this past year that are still hanging over me, and I ended up not participating in some exchanges towards the end of the year that I had planned to, but I had some good experiences and wrote some things I'm proud of! I had a lot of fun with Battleship, and I got into new mediums this year (cross stitch patterns, pixel art, podfic). I'm looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings!
