This experience is meant to let him feel what it’s like to be the hunter rather than prey, experiencing a sense of power and relief from helplessness. However, Henry forgets that Will will also feel the pain and fear of the democreatures, and his empathy and kindness might help calm the monsters, making them become more “friendly.” Just like Dustin formed a special bond with D’art, these monsters could end up following Will, not as a ruler, but as one of their own.
