Chapter 7 Assignment
While spending some time at the exhibit located in the lobby of BSSC I was able to read a lot of interesting stories from African Americans. I enjoyed viewing the different people’s pictures and testimonies and taking in the information that was presented with them. These African Americans all had something in common, all of them being in Germany. They shared the same nation state but still had their own unique characteristics, and problems they faced. They had different ethnicities, races, religions and more. Below are some pictures that I took at the exhibit :
I found this quote by Peggy Piesche very interesting because it allows you to think about all the undiscovered things that exists in the Afro-German culture. It also can explain that there is some things about there history that they are unaware of that should and can be brought to light.
Otto Addo spoke about racism. He believe that it was wrong and unfair among people. It was made very clear that it didn’t matter who you were. Racism was still common and relevant against the black communities. He believe in standing up to make a change.
This image includes writing about communities and black culture. The Afro-Germans expierenced some multiculturalism that expanded their communities.
These are images of some of the Morgan students enjoying the exhibit and taking in informantion just like I did.
