One thing that's really caught me by surprise about Kingohger (especially since it's target audience is, like, 6 years old) is how political it is.

This latest episode especially really brought it to the forefront, especially regarding Gira (whose politics seem to mostly consist, at this point, of "Step 1: Kill my brother; Step 2, ????; Step 3: Rainbow jurira for everyone").

Yanma, who is probably the closest to regarding Gira as an actual friend/actual human being, regards Gira as a way to overthrow Racles and his regime that exploits N'kosopa's technological skills.

Himeno wants Gira as pretty much a literal posession, due to his ability to communicate with the Shugods, whose power she knows all too well.

Rita regards Gira as just another weight to be added to one side or the other of the scales of justice.

Kaguragi is playing 5-D chess with everyone, doing whatever it takes to ensure the safety and survival of his country and if he has to kill a few koi along the way so be it

And then there's Racles and his stated ambitions of using the chaos caused by the Bugnarok invasion to take control of all 5 kingdoms.

It's all been really well done, all fitting in with what we know about all their characters so far, and it's, again, super ambitious (in a good way!) for a show for little kids.

Been thinking about anon all night and this morning.

Social media is addictive. The feedback of likes (and reblogs, shares, retweets, follows, etc) is a drug. The sporadic response to posts is manipulative and conditioning - inane nonsense gets more likes because it’s funny, or trauma because people are performative (sometimes they care too), but personal interests or niche topics stagnate and the learned response to this discouragement is to suppress pieces of yourself.

People make fun of fidget spinners when they have one in their pocket or directly in their hand on average 8 hours a day (screen time average of millennials right?). That constant access to social media (because that IS the culprit) is toxic and potentially dangerous but it’s so accepted now in our society that NOT taking part is considered strange.

When I tell people I refuse to have Facebook they 1) look at me strange, then 2) admit it’s a time waster and they should use it less.

I don’t know what I’m complain-rambling about here, except that while tumblr is different from the rest in that the social aspect can be completely removed from the experience if you wish it, it is also exactly the same and people should be mindful of the affect it has on their hobbies and their lives.

The amount of love and positivity I’ve seen regarding chubby Thor has really touched my heart. It makes my heart happy to see that, for the most part, people are supportive and accepting of that. However, there’s one fallout that I didn’t anticipate and this is mainly due to my experience and my perspective of things of how I’ve been treated in society.

Speaking as someone who has been overweight and mentally ill for pretty much their entire life I have never been treated and accepted the way the fandom has been treating Thor. Since Endgame came out I’ve been in an extra bad depression, more than usual. I think I’m finally turning the corner of that now, but for a few days, I was a mess (this is also partly due to me in mourning over Tony). I was really wondering what it was because it was a lot more than just Thor gaining weight and suffering from depression and PTSD. Then it hit me, it was because I’ve never been given the chance to be known and accepted as a person by society on the level that Thor has been. We were first introduced to him physically and of the mentality of a literal god, then when he’s mentally and physically not at his best that love and support are still there and even increased. 

When I say this I am not saying it’s bad or wrong for people to be doing this for Thor. Like I said it makes me very happy and touched to see. He deserves it.

What I’m saying is that I hope this opens people up to actually see overweight people and people who are suffering from mental illness as actual people. Not just the physical wrappings that we carry. The amount of times I’ve been dismissed purely because of my weight is countless. To see that love and support extended to a fictional character is great but also a mixed blessing for those of us who do not have a good support system and who are deemed by toxic western society/media not worthy to be put in this perfect little box. 

If you love and support Thor and his weight gain and through his battle with mental illness and PTSD then that’s great. I am 10000% there with you. However, if you’re not doing that for people in real life you need to have a serious conversation about your fatphobia and/or stigma against mental illness with yourself.

I know this is a very generalization of people and lumping them into each other and it’s not as black and white as that. That’s not my intention. I have met so many wonderful people online and a few over ‘real life’ over the years who don’t give a fuck about what I look like, this is more of a generalization of society/media as a whole and how damaging of an influence these kinds of prejudices and stigmas can be.

I know I’ve written Reno/Cloud “how they met” type schlock six ways until Tuesday (at least) but I WANNA DO IT AGAIN. This time with a more jaundiced eye, heh. Looking back at my earlier stuff, I think I made them fall for each other a bit too quickly and perhaps unrealistically (though there was some backstory type stuff that was meant to be understood and never actually written out bc I don’t have that kind of time).

Basically, what I’m saying is that I’m going to have them be even bigger assholes to each other in the beginning. Yay!

Headcanon that Five traveling into the Future cements it instead of making it a variable, and that's why the Commission is insistent on letting it happen and/or keeping Five with them. Fives presence in the timeline is what causes it to go towards End Times.

I mean we've seen in The Day That Wasn't that with Five absent, things look up for all the siblings. Luther and Allison start working toward a resolution, Grace is about to tell Diego about Reginald's suicide and hence probably everything about Vanya having powers, it's implied Klaus finally gets to see Dave, and then Vanya finds the figure and book Harold took, realises something is up, and fucks right off. That means that if things continued from that point, there's a chance that there wouldn't have been any Apocalypse at all.

Or if Five stayed with the Commission, they'd have forced him to retire outside his original timeline so that thanks to his absence there wouldn't be an Apocalypse.
