Whumpee grew concerned about Caretaker's motives. No one was that nice just to be nice. They hoped they could work off their debt to Caretaker. They weren't the best cook, but they were sure that they could learn if needed. Cleaning a house was second nature to them- cleaning outside even more so. Working from dawn to dusk was something they could do with familiar ease.
They didn't feel their own personal standards were high enough to allow them to leave if Caretaker felt they needed a punching bag to let out some steam on. Whumper had done the same, and they were capable of taking a lot of pain.
They’d do just about anything to stay on Caretaker’s good side.
