Cheerful whumpers

Content: pain, fear, unwanted touching, striking (cane), ptsd

Whistling as they set out the tools

Grinning as they see whumpee's face go from bitter to appalled

Chewing gum. Constantly.

Touching whumpee against their will and sucking in a relishing hiss as whumpee flinches away

Leaning forward with their hands on their knees and an bemused smile as they peruse whumpee's face

"You're enjoying this, aren't you." Whumpee says. Whumper throws their head back and laughs. "Who me? Enjoy this? Never."

Whumper that never curses but laughs when they make whumpee do it

Playing around jokingly with sarcastic whumpee and then striking them for their jabs

"I couldn't wish for a more entertaining playmate."

Coming down looking grumpy, and striking whumpee repeatedly with a cane until whumper's shoulders start to drop, they start to get tired, and finally when whumpee is outright crying, the smile comes back.

No smile looks genuine after that. Why would anyone be happy unless whumpee was suffering?

Smiles seeming predatory no matter what. They must be excited to see me suffering.

Whumper came into the room, a certain swing to their step that told Whumpee they had something in particular on their mind. They leaned in the doorway, a smirk spread on their face. “Hey, pet. Do you know what day it is?”

Whumpee stared blankly at their captor, brows slightly furrowed in anger, their arms folded. Of fucking corse they didn’t know what day it was! Still, their head tried to think about what holiday it could be based on the last one they were forced to celebrate.

“It’s Valentine’s daay!” They said, sing-songy. Whumpee's eyes widened, Whumper’s smirk grew. They both knew what that entailed.

For the first time in weeks, Whumpee reacts when Whumper touches them. They’re not sure why now, or why at all. It was just a twitch, a flinch to tuck in their head when Whumper moved to run their hand through Whumpee’s hair. But Whumper felt it, and paused.

“What was that, little one?” Slowly, Whumper crouched down. “Are you rediscovering your spine?” they asked in a deceptively calm tone. “Shall we break it again?”

Whumpee stared at their ground, silent tears in their eyes as tremors rocked their frame. “No, Master.”

Whumpee with PTSD that has seemingly odd or strange triggers.

Whumper had a favorite song they'd play whenever they'd torture whumpee. It's not super popular, but it's popular enough that it plays occasionally on the radio or in stores. The first time whumpee hears the song after being saved they freeze up and start screaming.

Whumper always wore this one specific perfume, when whumpee smells it randomly at the mall once, they nearly colapse and start hyperventalating.

Whumper would cook for whumpee, they'd always make whumpee a specific meal right before torturing them, it was their way of getting into whumpee's head, psyching them out before the physical torture.

Whumper would release whumpee into an enclosed space of a few acres, and then release dogs trained to sniff whumpee down and attack them. So now whumpee is TERRIFIED of a few specific dog breeds, to the point where seeing them immediately makes them panic and run out of pure instinct.

Whumper smoked like a chimney, so whumpee gets SUPER on edge and jumpy whenever they smell cigarettes or cigars.

Idk I just love the idea of whumpee having triggers that to outsiders seem completely random and/or almost illogical, but make perfect sense to caretaker since they know the context.

Also if anyone else has any other ideas for this I'd love to hear them!! <3

Whumpee who loves Caretaker… maybe too much.

Putting themselves in harm’s way when they are far worse off. Maybe to them, or others, it’s admirable, but Caretaker only gets frustrated.

“Whumpee, no!”

“Stop, you can’t afford to be out of bed right now.”

“Please, will you just listen to me?”

Trauma can lead to a million different things. Maybe, during their torture, Whumpee developed some sort of saviour complex— vowing to not let this happen to anyone else.

“I’m all right, I promise.”

“It’s better I take the hit than you.”

“I… couldn’t stop myself.”

There’s little doubt Whumpee doesn’t understand that people who care about you don’t want to see you get hurt. Even if it means protecting them.

“Please… stop. Rest.”

“But I—”

“I’m begging you.”

Whumpee’s entire body goes rigid, frozen by the reminder of what they have been through. Whumper would make them beg and plead to not be tortured.

Not once did it ever work.

“Don’t beg,” Whumpee said, “p… please. I’ll go back to the infirmary.”

An impatient Whumper means all kinds of things for Whumpee:

Speaking with as few words as necessary, if not skipping straight to simple nods or shakes of the head

Walking quietly everywhere they go, or only walking normally when there is something to mask the sound

Fawning

When asked to do something, dropping whatever they’re doing to immediately take care of it

Walking fast. Hell, maybe jogging between destinations to ensure as little travel time as possible

No personal opinions of any kind. Freezing up when two or more people ask them to be a tiebreaker on something

Heaps of scars to show anyone curious what they got used to happening when they were too slow

Did I mention fawning yet

Dissociating nearly every moment they aren’t being directly addressed

And of course, the persistent internalization that everyone is sick of their whining and on the brink of yelling at and/or hitting them if they make so much as a peep in their presence.

Yes, that infected injury is as painful as it looks, but the fear of what Caretaker might do if they find out they got hurt vastly outweighs the misery of sucking it up and letting it go away on its own (which it won’t do).

And when they inevitably do find out? Anxiety peaks, panic attacks, breakdowns, mania, and hysterically sobbed apologies— all while reassurance falls on deaf ears.
