Hello🜃♑︎
I'm Theo [they/them]. <- Follows from @earthenremains
A thirty two year-old non-binary pagan.
I've been loosely practicing for roughly eight years.
My path is solitary, born from death and bound to the earth.
My skepticism can make believing in magic a challenge at times, but I also think it keeps me from blindly believing in every bit of information out there.
This blog is part personal pagan journal to keep a log of my magical dabbling and part collective grimoire of witchy posts made by others.
My current areas of interest are:
Death Work - My path started in earnest in 2017 while dealing with the grief accompanying a very sudden and unexpected close familial death. But my interest in death work precedes this, as I have been a member of the Vulture Culture* community for well over ten years, working with animal remains in all their forms.
Tarot/Oracle Cards - Despite owning a handful of decks, I am still learning to read tarot but have always enjoyed the diversity of oracle cards.
Rune Casting - I'm still in the phase of trying to learn the key meanings of the runes, I'd like to eventually learn to cast and read them together.
The Forest - I have been a patron of the trees since I was a child, always content to sit beneath their branches and focus solely on nature. I'm also a forager of localized natural spell ingredients.
The Personalized Path - I've spent far too long trying to follow the 'trending' paths of others. Forcing myself into a mold that has never felt quite right. So I am learning how to carve my own path and do what feels right for me.
Norse Paganism- One path I keep circling back around to is Norse paganism and the history/myths surrounding it.
Dabbling in Deity Work - Though I'm not sure I believe in deities as actual beings, more like concepts, I've been dabbling with deity work in the Norse pantheon {see blog list below for who I'm currently interested in}.
My intentions for this blog are to collect and curate posts I resonate with, and to share some posts of my own to better define my path.

*Vulture Culture encompasses the collection and processing of animal remains in various forms (bones, roadkill, hides/pelts, wet and dry specimens, taxidermy, insect pinning, etc). For me personally, I am mostly a bone collector/processor working with roadkill or natural deaths of wild animals. However on this blog you will also see a few of the pelts I own and acquired from Indigenous hunters/trappers that I use on my altar. If these things bother you, please consider unfollowing or blocking the tags listed below.
Other blogs, TWs, and DNI under the cut.

Lunar cycles in a nutshell
Hey witches around the world! Finally we have reached one of my favorite topics in general, lunar cycles are my happiness because of how attached i feel to the moon. So here we go my beautiful people!
New Moon (i’ll leave the moon phases images at the end) New moon is the time for new beginnings! Time for planning the future and maybe do some changes. You can do this by changing your altar, different kind of spells, get creative.
Waxing Crescent Waxing Crescent is the time to grow! Time for bringing your ideas, hopes and intentions in. You can do this by making different activities that remember you what you wanna achieve.
First Quarter First Quarter is the time to overcome obsticals that are stopping you from achieving what you want. Great time to try different things in your craft.
Waxing Gibbous Waxing Gibbous is the time to get better in things you already have learned. You can do this by revising what you have written down in your grimoire/ book of shadows and if need to add something do it now.
Full Moon Full Moon is the time to reflect your achievements in the first half of the lunar cycle. You can also cleanse your crystals and maybe do some rituals for the full moon!
Waning Gibbous Waning Gibbous is the time to give thanks for everything you have and have achieved, you can do this by giving thanks to your ancestors/deities/spirits etc/ or different kind of rituals!
Third Quarter Third Quarter is the time to accept and let go bad habits/relationships/things that are not positive in your life, whatever they are, its time to let go. I personally take Third Quarter for self care and cutting toxic relationships!
Waning Crescent Waning Crescent is the time to see how much you have achieved during the lunar cycle! If you didn’t achieve everything you wanted, don’t be so hard, you will always have more time and you can always get better at things.

the waxing moon is the second phase in the lunar cycle. visually, it’s a crescent, illuminated on the right hand side.it’s the first sign of building energy as the moon moves towards the full moon.
it’s a good time to build up self confidence, compassion, self assurance, and to begin planning to reach goals.

the first quarter is the third part of the lunar cycle. the whole right side of the moon is illuminated during this time and is at half power.
during this time, it’s best to reflect and celebrate achievements, as well as prepare for the full moon.

𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚊𝚡𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙶𝚒𝚋𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚜
the next phase in the cycle leaves only the left edge of the moon unlit. the moon is only a sliver away from being at full power.
this phase is best for refining intentions/goals/actions, as well as staying mindful of internal and external affairs. pay attention to details during this time.

the peak of the lunar cycle--the moon is at her full power. her energy can be used for manifestation or insight.
the full moon is best used for adding power to intentions and is the perfect time for doing spells/rituals. it’s also a good time for manifestation spells, meditations, rituals, charging crystals, cleansing tarot cards, etc.

the moon’s power draws to a close and there is only a small crescent visible on the left hand side, and the new moon is drawing near.
this final phase is best for surrendering to whatever has happened and accepting that it was out of your control. unreached goals shouldn’t be used to self-deprecate, they should be given back to the universe and you’ll have a chance to try to reach them another time.
