After she managed to get away from the Thalmor agents, Drusilla spent her days travelling across Skyrim, never sleeping at the same place twice. Now that she was sure the Emissary would be on her trail, too, it was even more risky to tell people who she was.
Emissary. She snorted at her bottle of mead with disgust. He really was insane to think she'd let herself be caught by him. Anyways, days passed by fast and she became a bit more calm about the situation than she should've.
Of course she didn't think she should keep herself more safe by never going near Talos shrines, but she just had to visit a place like that near Whiterun. There was a nice little cave with a statue and all she wanted was to sit down there and think about all the time she chose to be brave and fight for her life. When she sat on the bench she breathed in the scent of flowers near her, she took a look at the statue and smiled; even though she lived in Raven Rock with her mother, she still had her little Talos statue. Not like she didn't know it was outlawed by the Empire to worship Talos, she just didn't care. The Altmer and the Empire could shove up their treaty in a warm, dark place. Being close to a Talos shrine and looking up on the statue made her remember the times when her mother was still alive and told her stories about brave men and dragons.
Her moments of peace were disturbed by a soft, quiet sound. She stood up and got her bow in her hand just to notice a few Altmer walking up to the shrine.
"Oh fuck", the words rolled down her lips and she readied an arrow.
She knew they saw her and there was no reason to hide or run. Four to one... she started to pray to whatever gods she believed in.
Did Rulindil send out more troops to secure the shrines, thinking Drusilla would go to them? Or she was just simply paranoid... and had bad luck? Maybe a mix of both?
