Thirdeyelid's Ranked Sorting
The first time I took the test I was a Gryffindor/Slytherin Hatstall. My original test answers are in bold (I think; my notes died with the harddrive they were on; I'm fairly certain about all of them except q5.)
First off, this is a great Hatstall to demonstrate how bloody weird Gryff-related Hatstalls are. If you check out my spreadsheet, things like a Slytherpuff or a Slytherclaw Hatstall always make sense: they go back and forth between the 2 Houses, with the answers pretty evenly split. But this one looks like it ought to be outright Gryff - 2/(3)/4/(7) are all Gryff vs. only 1/(6)/7 Slyth! There's no question it should be Gryffindor. (Even if you mistook your Q5 answer and it was a Slyth-based answer, it still shouldn't be enough to Hatstall.) But Gryff-involved Hatstalls tend to be so strange compared to other Hatstalls that part of me has wondered wtf is up with Pottermore's scoring algorithm in relation to Gryffindor.
1) Ignorant>Selfish>Cowardly>Ordinary;
Claw > Puff > Gryff > Slyth
don't care>adventures/achievements>smile;
Slyth > Gryff/Claw > Puff
the wise>good>bold>great;
Claw > Puff > Gryff > Slyth
Claw > Puff > Gryff > Slyth
And this is what I mean when I talk about bad/odd question draw. Your ordering is the exact same for every possible Q1 except the one you happened to draw on the actual quiz - Claw 1st, Puff 2nd, Gryff 3rd, Slyth last - but then you got a Slyth-1st answer for the actual quiz.
You have 3 Claw answers: 1 Slyth for Q1.
2) golden potion>silvery>chocoplums>ink (hallucinations would be kinda cool tho);
Gryff > Claw > Puff > Slyth
piano>violin>drum>trumpet;
Claw > Slyth > Gryff > Puff (reflects popular distribution perfectly)
silver tree>toadstools/pool>statue;
Claw > Puff/Slyth > Gryff
black box>golden casket>pewter>tortoiseshell;
Slyth > Claw > Gryff > Puff
log fire>sea>parchment>home
Gryff > Slyth > Claw > Puff
2 Claw: 2 Gryff: 1 Slyth for this question
Gryff primary, Claw secondary.
trusted>liked>praised>feared>imitated>envied;
Puff/Gryff, more Puff than Gryff (...probably. The numbers are really close and I've been assuming primary Hufflepuff.) Overall, it's Huffledor > Puff > Gryffinslyth (possible tiny Claw weight) > Slyth > Claw > Slyth.
Both your cure ordering and this question fall prey to Pottermore's natural pro-Gryff bias on these questions. These are horribly, horribly weighted: trusted is picked by over 50% of Ravenclaws and is also Slyth's #2 answer, while CBR is the #1 answer of every single House and picks up 75%+ Gryffs, 50%+ Claws, 35% of Slyths, and 25% of Puffs. Both questions have answers that are just way too disproportionately popular to be fair (and Ravenclaw in particular is really screwed on the trusted question, since imitated is the only answer with a clear 'Claw link and it's not even attractive to Ravenclaws. On ranked Sortings it consistently places last or second-to-last overall.) As I've pointed out, Gryff has issues with having all of the most popular answers; trusted and praised have heavy Gryff weight and account for over 60% of all responses (and I have the fewest Gryff/Puff Sortings, so if I had equivalent numbers of Gryff/Puff Sortings that percentage would actually increase by a large amount.) This is especially problematic because of the weight given to questions 3 and 4 in relation to the rest of the quiz.
boredom>hunger>cold>being ignored/loneliness
Gryffinslyth > Huffleclaw > Huffleslyth > Slytherclaw > Huffledor. It's very typical for the physical answers of hunger/cold to be ranked side by side.
So Gryff weight on all 3, and Slyth, Puff, and Claw get one each.
4) invisibility>appearance>read minds>past>strength>animals;
Gryff > Slytherclaw > Ravenslyth > Slythergryff > Puff > Huffleclaw
ghosts>vampires>werewolves>centaurs/goblins/merpeople>trolls;
Gryffinclawpuff (most weight to Gryff) > Slytherpuff > Huffledor > Ravendor/Slytherclaw/Slytherin > Puff.
Again, a hugely problematic question: the 3 most popular creatures overall are all Gryff-weighted, while Hufflepuff gets trolls, which no one ever answers. (Slytherin is also fairly disadvantaged: vampires and goblins are relatively unpopular.) It's not as bad as the Q3s, but it's also not great.
every area>flying>transfiguration>apparition>secrets>magical creatures>hexes
Ravenclaw > Huffledor > Raven(secondary unknown) > Slytherdor > Gryff > Puff > Slyth. Either each House has a 3rd subject that I haven't uncovered yet or Gryff gets one extra. Hexes and jinxes, at least, appears purely Slytherin.
5) confuse the troll>all three fight>volunteer>draw lots;
Claw > Slyth > Gryff > Puff. Reflects overall popularity.
ask>truth>lie>don't wait;
Gryff > Claw > Puff > Slyth. Slyth is always ranked last here.
woods path>cobbled street>grassy lane>dark alley;
Gryff > Claw > Puff > Slyth
trapped in dark room>high>silly voice>no one knows me;
Gryff > Claw > Slyth > Puff.
withdraw>proceed with caution>discover the source>stand ground;
Claw > Puff > Gryff > Slyth. Slyth also gets screwed on this (and the silly voice nightmare and jinxing the Muggle, although you didn't place those dead last.)
ask>mental health>jinx>bluff
Claw > Puff > Slyth > Gryff. Very unusual for bluffing to be so low.
Slytherpuff (more Puff); Huffledor (more Puff; also caveat of 75% of Claws giving vs. 64% of Gryffs); Gryffinclaw (more Gryff)
Slytherdor (more Slyth); Ravenpuff (more Claw); Gryffinpuff (more Gryff)
Overall, you're definitely a Gryffindor, and I'd call Ravenclaw your #2 House. (Of course, this is going by scoring - keep in mind the biases of the quiz, which have really affected your quiz in particular with the cure order, ghosts, trusted, and stars all being Gryff-slanted even though a majority of Ravenclaws pick each and every one of them. (At the moment, excepting the cure ordering, MORE Ravenclaws overall are picking each of those answers than Gryffindor despite not getting any points for it, although it's a very very narrow margin in the case of trusted. Also, trusted, that cure order, ghosts, and stars are all Ravenclaw-majority answers despite 'Claws not getting points for any of them.)
It's a bit of a hard call for the #3, but Slyth is probably #3 and Puff #4. The right question set could put you in any House (even trusted/ghosts/dusk/heads could do it for Puff if you split the other answers) but statistically you're most likely to get Gryff, then Claw.
8) Ravenclaw > Gryffindor > Slytherin > Hufflepuff
No problem, hope that helps! Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
ETA: Gah, the bolding is still broken. Hopefully this is still legible.
