I watched Aliens yesterday, and something very interesting happened (spoilers). There's a part where Ripley threatens to torch a bunch of eggs if the xenomorph queen doesn't let Riply go. The xenomorphs all stand down, and then as Riply is leaving she opens fire anyway.

My dragonbrain reacted very strongly to this. A feeling along the lines of, "No! Breaking a vow like that is evil!" I ended up mourning the xenomorphs as much as I celebrated the human survival, and even after the end of the movie I was still very upset that Riply broke her truce.

So, TIL that vows are very serious stuff to dragons. Murder, or theft, are distasteful, but oathbreaking is unforgivable.

Honestly, I'd be more mad about killing a bunch of eggs for no reason (I suspect "them's good eatin'" qualifies as "reason" for my dragon brain but we won't go there xD) than about the oathbreaking half of it, but I haven't seen the movie and only have the vaguest idea of what it entails, so maybe she's more justified than I realize. Interesting how perceptions of things vary between us!

everyone else please do not fill my inbox with information about Aliens if I wanted to know I would look up the movie fjdkgjslkj
