How do I explain to my cleanliness-is-close-to-godliness mother that the reason I have random cardboard boxes and paper sacks lying around my floor is because the Cat has taken A Liking to it?

So I was cleaning my room and in my closet I found this box

I asked my parents about it and dad says its a box full of Mayan or Aztec gods. 

What should I do?

I tried.

I think that us being friends made me feel good about myself. I seemed cooler when you around, I fit in with you by my side. Which fitting in is amazing because I don’t. I don’t fit in but somehow when you were around I tried so hard to be in that box of cool kids that once ugly in I loved the idea of never leaving but then I broke. And you didn’t care. That was the end of it. I ran from the box and now I’m somehow still not fitting in but the world is beginning to make sense. At least this world called highschool.
