Lolli the Lickilicky was hatched at a daycare near Driftveil by the elderly couple who ran it. He was an egg left behind by a trainer. Who the trainer was and who Lolli’s parents were are unknown, they were gone before he hatched.
Lolli actually grew up helpin his folks out. Most of his early life was spent learnin how to care for other pokemon. Some unusual skills for pokemon he picked up along the way were cooking, sewing, reading, writing, and speaking!
It became more and more necessary the older his folks got.
It was shortly after Lolli evolved that his folks passed away, one shortly after the other. Lolli tried to mantain the daycare but it was short lived. Pokemon are not legally able to own property so Lolli became homeless.
For a while Lolli wandered the wilderness traveling all over not quite sure what to do. He had a few rough lessons to learn about surviving. Lolli discovered a much more brutal side to himself, one hed end up relying on in various situations.
Despite the strength he gained Lolli never liked the wild and never will. Hated every moment of it. He hated the trainers, hated the predator pokemon he had to beat down, hated the wet, the cold, you name it.
One thing Lolli never lost was his background in caring for other pokemon. He was a bit unusual in that he often protected helpless or weak pokemon even if they just ran from him after.
Lolli was never caught by a trainer, how he manged this is a secret he wont tell anyone.
Lolli crossed paths with Fairy one day when he found them lost in the wild with all their pokemon blacked out. Fairy never really told him what happened that day but it was clear whatever it was really left a mark. Perhaps seeing no threat Lolli’s need to look after those in need kicked in and he helped guide Fairy to the nearest pokemon center.
Despite them originally parting ways Fairy shortly after came back looking for Lolli and both somehow ended up becoming traveling companions.
While Lolli resented a lot of humans for what happened it was a bit of a good change traveling with one, he now had access to more comfy shelter, better food, books, and many other luxuries he had lost.
Being reunited with these things sparked his desire to go back into the hospitality business and Lolli proposed the idea to Fairy to run an Inn. Since he cant own property they would put it under Fairy’s name and just have Lolli run the show in the background.
Both ended up traveling and partnering up for battles as well as doing other odd jobs to save up money. Along the way they met some other lickifellas who joined their gang.
Eventually they were all able to build the inn which now serves as a sort of resort for pokemon. Fairy and Lolli still go on vacations though in order to travel and hone their skills in caretaking and the likes.
