Bobbie x Clarissa
Bobbie and Clarissa had an agreement. They were friends on the ship. It began as a necessity sometimes as despite their best intentions, Bobbie and Clarissa would never be able to form the bond the original Roci crew members had. It grew stronger during the time the would spend in near silence in the machine shop, Bobbie working on her armor and Clarissa fixing various things. The found out they shared the same taste in music and horrible fathers. Clarissa like to cook and Bobbie liked to eat.
The agreement came about during one boring stretch of space between human settlements. Bobbie broke out a bottle that the old lady gifted her before she left and after a few drinks complained about how long it had been since she got laid. Clarissa down a shot for courage and told Bobbie she was willing.
And it continued like that, irregularly, either out of boredom or to remind themselves they were alive after a crisis. The rest knew and accepted it, although before the nature of their relationship became clear, Holden would clumsily drop hints that he was happy they were a couple after he ran into Bobbie coming out of Clarissa’s quarters one morning.
It was one of those nights when Clarissa told Bobbie about her diagnosis and what time she had left. Bobbie held her as she cried. After a brush with death, Clarissa rubbed Bobbie’s back as she shook in a delayed shock.
They were friends. It worked for them.
