IT’S MY FIRST UNNECESSARY FEELINGS DAY 🎉🎉🎉

I’ve literally been counting down the days until I could post this. These silly gay lawyers have saddled me with absolute brainrot over the past few months bonus Narumitsu doodle I did in class:

Listen I'm not here to compete in the TRAUMA OLYMPICS, but whenever I see anyone say that "[character w trauma] has so much trauma" and that it trumps ALL OTHER TRAUMAS, making them the winner of the trauma olympics, it makes me scratch my head in utter confusion.

Because OBJECTIVELY (and I can say this because I decide what's objective), [my favourite character] has had the MOST trauma out of anyone else. And no, this isn't me being a hypocrite. This is objective, as I j said.

I can go on and on but I'm sorry, making [traumatized characters I don't like]'s traumas somehow 'the biggest traumas of all' is somehow DISINGENUOUS.

They REALLY suffered more than [unrelated characters w similar traumas]? Really?

Just STOP. Stop COMPARING.

[character I don't like] isn't holding some gold medal of trauma over [my favorite character]. Because it's MY favourite who's holding it. Not urs. OBJECTIVELY.

[Character who went thru something brutal and horrific] had a horrible afternoon. [My favorite who has trauma] had DECADES of horrible afternoons.

But it's even worse when i see things like "[character I don't like] deserves a HEA" or "[character I don't like] deserves [character I ship w my favorite]." Almost like some "reward" for their traumas. As if [traumatized character who I hate]'s so called "trauma" overrides [character ik nothing bout]'s DESIRE and FREE WILL which they personally told me about. As if they r nothing but a 'consolation prize' when OBJECTIVELY they're the actual winner of the trauma olympics. And not j cause I have a parasocial relationship w them.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I feel like people don’t understand what “a eye for a eye” punishment truly is. “A eye for a eye” punishment means no matter the circumstances whatever was done to you can be done right back to the person who did it to you. An example would be if someone hit you with a basketball “an eye for an eye” would justify you hitting them back with that same basketball. It doesn’t matter if it was an accident or not.

Now we can go back and forth all day arguing the ethics of “an eye for an eye” but that’s what that punishment means.

In HOTD “a eye for a eye” is literally what it sounds like. Luke took Aemond's eye so Aemond takes Luke’s eye. This doesn’t mean it’s right but that’s what this punishment means.

“A son for a son” isn’t the same as "a eye for a eye." “A eye for an eye” punishment would be because Aemond killed Rhaenyra’s son Rhaenyra kills Aemond’s son. Aemond however has no children.

While I understand why what was done was done I don’t agree with either “a eye for a eye” or “a son for a son.” I think they’re both wrong but I wish the fandom would acknowledge the distinction between the two.

I don’t think this opinion is unpopular among Team Green, but Team Black 😬 Speaking as a Daemon fan(I like and hate characters from both teams), what he did wasn’t right.

The punishment did not befit the crime. The only real reason why he went after the babies was because they were the easiest targets to get to that would cripple morale (which effectively took Helaena out from participating in the war thus leaving the Greens down a dragon).

No comment on Rhaenyra other than her silence/not punishing Daemon and Mysaria means she approved of it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Daemon definitely should have gone after Aemond (or Daeron), but they aren’t children(and as you pointed out, Aemond at the time had no kids of his own to target). They are young men in their prime who could fight back which would have made it harder to kill them.

Honestly, Luke wasn’t a kid in that way either(and you could make the argument that Aemond was within his “rights” to collect an eye although he went way too far in the books cause he straight-up did not care if he killed him, it definitely wasn’t an accident). Yes, he’s a couple of years younger than Aemond, but they are age peers(despite how show!Aemond looks like he has a mortgage and show!Luke looks like he is still being breastfed) which makes Blood and Cheese even worse 🫠

I thought I’d add this art from The Rise of The Dragon to show how it was just a dispute between two hormonal teenagers that got out of control and ended tragically. Some show fans have turned this into innocent baby Luke has been murdered by an evil anime villain who doesn’t recognize the one true queen, the Greens🥦 must pay with blood 😈 So for that some actual babies who had nothing to do with anything have to pay the price🙃

This is a classic case of violence begets violence. We shouldn’t be cheering on or celebrating the continuation of this cycle. The Dance as a whole is a tragedy all around with no winners, just innocents paying the price for others' mistakes, but folks have lost the message with this team mess🤦🏽‍♀️

I wanna read a sambucky smutty thing, but now there’s a rule about how nobody wants to write bottom!bucky anymore. There’s tons of bottom!sam, that I can enjoy even, but it’s not my cup of tea, but there’s it.

And I get the hypersexualization of black man, (I am a black queer woman so please don’t try to explain it to me), but I think what people forget is you can like something without being gross about it, there are readers out there that enjoy it and aren’t putting Sam in a awful role, and more important, diversity in fic is what motivates people to read and write, if the fandom is all polarized, and there’s something put as this is the right way to enjoy this, you end shutting other people down, people that want to read or create fic, because you made your fandom an specified niche. 

Also some of you don’t realize that there’s the reverse racist trope of “white dick savior” and I’ve seen more writers that I would like to adimit fall straight into that one trap.

What I wanna ask is, please, try not shut down other people, please try to pay attention to those little details, please, try not make this fandom unapproachable. There are reasons of why people may like Top!Sam that have nothing to do with hypersexualization or bigotred views of black man.

For me personally, I love to see Top!Sam because I see Sam Wilson as a brave, capable and skilled man, one that respects your boundaires, always takes care of you, and is always ready to help, a person who’s always interested in your opinion and taste, who wanna get to know you better and learn everything about you, that can be soft and sexy, or vigorous and fast.

Am I saying with this that people shouldn’t enjoy Bottom!Sam or should stop writing it? NO, I’m saying do it, please do whatever you like, just don’t shame other people for liking something different.
