I LOVE HOW IT NEVER OCCURS TO IMPULSE TO TAKE SHELTER AND KEEP A ROOF OVER HIS HEAD WHEN HE IS ACTIVELY BEING TARGETED WITH FALLING ANVILS AND DRIPSTONE, I LOVE WHEN MY HEARTBEAT GOES SO FAST I ALMOST THROW UP,
hope you're having a lovely day <3 whenever you have time or feel up to it, i have a request:
hero has a side hussle. unbeknownst to their family or friends, their side hussle consists of being anonymously hired for criminal acts, such as thievery, assisted bank robberies, etc. they're struggling financially, and hero business isn't providing them with enough money. although they hate it, they feel like they have no choice.
they had only indented to accept the small offers, nothing that would put the city or anybody in any major danger. they wanted to protect their indentity the most, making sure their criminal acts couldn't be traced back to their hero name. but then villain finds out about their side job.
no pressure! love your work :)
love this idea, and I love your writing too dude!!!
“Finally.”
The hero whipped around at the sound of the villain’s voice. The villain was leaning against the wall of the alleyway, hands in their pockets and looking at them nonchalantly. They took a step forward, and their face became illuminated under the bright street light. The hero made eye contact for a split second, and immediately looked away.
“You’ve been avoiding me.”
“That’s awfully self centered of you- to accuse me of avoiding you,” the hero muttered, their heart pounding out of their chest.
“Why have you been avoiding me?”
“Again, not avoiding you,” the hero seethed, rolling their eyes. They took a deep breath, before looking up at Villain. They had an unimpressed look on their face. “I just... I needed more money,” Hero gave in, fists clenched.
“You could have told me,” the villain said, an indiscernible expression on their face as they stared at the hero. The hero bit the inside of their cheek.
“How was I supposed to do that?” they asked, cheeks burning with humiliation.
“Well-” the villain tried to interrupt, but the hero continued.
“What? Just tell my nemesis that I’m broke? ‘Hey Villain, I just wanted to let you know that the agency doesn’t pay shit and I have to resort to crime to make ends meet.’ Do you have any idea how that sounds?”
“I suppose that does sound rather ridiculous,” the villain acknowledged, their eyebrows furrowed and their jaw clenched. “Still though- doesn’t the hero agency pay you an exorbitant amount-”
“That's what you would think,” the hero interjected, eyes darkening. “But, the CEO takes all the money for himself. We’re hardly left with enough to pay the bills. I’m behind two months on rent,” they sighed, a stormy expression on their face. “I’ve been giving my sidekick some of my cut, but even then...” the hero broke off.
“What a conundrum,” the villain remarked, in a vague way that made the hero incredibly wary. “If only there were some way to fix that...”
“If you’re suggesting that we kill the CEO, I’m leaving.”
“Come on, think about it,” the villain said, walking behind the hero and placing a hand on their shoulder. “He really is the only problem here,” they asserted.
“Is he?” the hero asked, their voice sounding uncertain even to their own ears.
“Dear hero...” the villain tightened their grip on their shoulder. “That man is as much of a villain as I am. Wait, no- He's a lot worse than I am,” they continued, extending their arm to the horizon for the hero to see. “Everything could just go back to normal if he were gone. You can pay rent, fight me again, and just go about your business.”
“I’m confused,” the hero admitted. “Why are you even doing this?” they asked.
“The golden question,” the villain said, with a sigh that sounded all too rehearsed. “These other heroes they’re sending me- they’re no fun.”
The hero glanced at them, feeling as if the villain were not quite telling the full truth. They dropped it, though, as they knew that the villain would not take kindly to them pressing about it.
“Fine,” the hero said, knowing when to give in. “Let’s do this.” they grimaced, lump in their throat as the villain patted them on the back vigorously. The villain turned to walk away, and the hero followed quietly, tuning out their numerous criticisms of the CEO. They raised a hand in front of them, wincing when they noticed how shaky their hands were. Shoving their hands in their pockets, they pushed down their nerves and listened as the villain discussed their game plan.
WAHHHHHH
wait he was HIRO???
YEAH!!!
