jeongguk🌙: do you know something
you: mhmm?
jeongguk🌙: you brim with a rosy tint on your cheeks
jeongguk🌙: and they look like the color of your nails
you: gguk.
jeongguk🌙: yeah?

"And I knew I was going to be a disast— aishh!—"
Her words muffled into an indignant huff and a smack on his shoulder,
While jeongguk looked down at her with a grin, unfazed.
Turns out, he had her face nestled over the side of his chest, his arm securely curled around her frame.
After a beat, he loosens his grip a tad bit
And hears her talk again, the rant sounding precious in his ears.
"You-! Ughh I was talking about something and I forgot what I was gonna say"
He chuckled at her, considering himself guilty,
Considering her a grumpy missy.
"Really? I thought you were cold. So much for being a gentleman."
He muttered, his free hand tracing up her cheek, tapping her nose before sliding up to correct her glass frame, rendering her speechless, her eyes blinking like a doe caught on headlights.
"I– well..I didn't know that. You could have just told me.."
She huffed, the sourness in her voice dropping, replaced by something that awfully sounded like wonder, like she's still surprised that he cared, as if she's not worth of it. Silly girl. Silly missy.
"Mm. You could have told me about those too"
He gestured with a turn of his chin, his eyes trailing down to her hands,
The dainty fingers now adorned by her almost long nails, painted in crimson.
She laughed to herself, raising up her hand to hold it between them
"This? Well..I wanted to try something different. Like a change. Like rebellion"
She whispered the last word, smiling to herself as if it was conspiratorial secret,
Making him chuckle in return.
His palm cradled hers, assessing the faint shimmer of the paint,
Finding it new, since she never quite wore something like that.
She expects him to say something about it
But before anything, he intertwines their hands, his thumb drawing the familiar pattern on her skin.
"Rebellion.."
He repeats, taking their intertwined hands close to his face
"Still feels like home to me. Like safety."
He settles for that word, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he presses her palm against his cheek, the nails not biting into his skin, merely resting there.
The silence passes after a brief moment
And she gently turns her hand, finds herself confess softly.
"It rebels against the unfairness..against the..evil.
Not you.."
He couldn't help but chuckle,
His eyes watching the way her fingers tremble,
Before she slowly traces the tips of her nails over his skin, gentle, reverent
Like he's precious.
"Not me?"
He echos, prompting her to continue
And she does.
"Not you
If this is home for you..
You are the warmth that makes it a home"
His breath halts,
And he has to exhale shakily,
Only after her nails trace a heart over the scar on his left cheek,
Reverent, again.
And he has to intertwine her hand with his again
Warmth against warmth making a home
Building a safety
That exists in him leaning over to press a long kiss against her forehead.

Chapter 3: Hiatus
"Bellamy is looking fine tonight," Raven sings, taking a long sip of her beer, then, for emphasis, nudging Clarke's shoulder with her nose. She is not too subtle about the teasing. (It's been weeks. Not anymore.)
It's Wednesday night. The show is on hiatus so they moved their gatherings from Clarke and Raven's apartment to Eden, their favourite neighbourhood bar. In some way, it is an improvement. They cannot be as loud as usual, but they are still spending Wednesday nights together. Instead of drinking the same bottled beer and munching on popcorn and Jasper ugly crying on their couch (and Miller teasing him for it), they are at the Eden already at 8 p.m. No ugly crying is involved, unless Jasper drinks too much and gets too emotional about his age or the time passing too fast. (Miller teases him for that too. But Miller teases everyone.)
Clarke takes a look at the man in question and shrugs. "He's okay."
But then, because she is a little tipsy she adds, "The glasses are really not doing it for me."
It's a lie.
Raven snorts.
"Whatever you say, babe."
Truth is though, now that Raven has brought up the glasses, she cannot look away. She is fixated on those glasses as if he's grown a second head. But worse than that, she cannot stop the flood of memories that invade her mind.
