Dimension time travel. If one can manipulate time then he can alter timelines and be transported across space and distance instantly. It seems to be just a simple tricks and understanding to Kaiba on how the quantum level relates to the entire thing. All matter is both wave and particle. Quantum teleportation as the ability to transfer energy from one or series of particles in another location through quantum entanglement. Somewhere above this sky, born of the color of summer Iris, a brilliant and luminous sonic beam jaggers across the light blue canvas. It’s more than likely it’s ended up at another place with how fast it travels.
In the location of the landing, light reflects in gold ornaments as Atem’s hand grips the fabric to his chest, feeling that he’s very much alive. But everything seems so surreal that even he couldn’t perceive this to be logically possible. His magenta gaze searches the place, first spotting the Kaiba Corp logo in a glowing blue canvas before it dartz to Kaiba, who is toggling the visor off and checking the statistics. Whether this was intentional or not, an anomaly has occurred. Initially, Atem wasn’t supposed to be here. More or less, the whole process was only Kaiba transporting his consciousness to the afterlife via the Quantum Cube and making it back without an issue. Atem doesn’t quite remember the course of how it happened but all he knows that he was in a rush. As if— he needed to escape something. A sense of danger. Kaiba taking action, or rather literally taking the whole being of Atem out of the afterlife and into the current timeline, is a possibility on how things went. But he does not understand, how was this doable? Not only his consciousness but his whole physical form. Speaking of his physical form, the Pharaoh begins to search about his chest and abdomen, realizing that the Puzzle is gone.
“Kaiba!” he shouts in panic, his breathing hastens and his chest fills with a rather hot and tight feeling, something akin to an arrow shooting through. “The Puzzle!”
Adrenaline floods Atem’s system and his fight or flight response is triggered. But this is only perceived danger. And if he were to run, where would he go? Everything seems unfamiliar and much more advanced. He visibly trembles while fighting against the flood of anxiety that’s pooling down his chest and abdomen. This is something Kaiba didn’t think through, or rather didn’t expect to happen. The Puzzle is either left in the afterlife… or it’s been sent who knows where. Suddenly, the crown on Atem’s forehead feels heavy and so does everything on his body. How long has it been since he last felt alive? That was just prior the ceremonial battle. This time, however, he’s in his own body.
Atem gets up on his feet and rushes out of sight. The feeling urged him to find a ‘safer’ place to panic about the Puzzle. Kaiba stands in place, not as concerned as he would know Atem can’t run far since the identity check on the doors wouldn’t let him. On the other hand, he is digging up and analyzing data about the Puzzle before and after it’d vanished. In the end, it’s discovered that the Puzzle had shattered upon their arrival and the pieces have spread across the world. Good news is, they’re on Earth, bad news is that they would be extremely difficult to find.
A few days pass, Atem having no choice but to reside within KC until the Puzzle is, somehow, put together. He cannot leave this world until that’s done first. He has a conversation with Kaiba about the matter.
“They could be anywhere… I need to find the pieces. I must. Kaiba—“ he almost snaps his teeth in a state of despair. He would know it isn’t entirely Kaiba’s fault, even though he would have preferred staying back there where he was, letting whatever monster was coming to him. Simultaneously, neither he or Kaiba are hurt. And he is having a taste of what it used to be to have his own physical form. But at what cost? Kaiba is already aware the last bit that came off the Pharaoh’s words was a plea. And he already has all the information about the Puzzle. This means, he could figure out a way to locate the pieces on a radar across the world. Atem will be stuck in the current place, unaware of when and if this happens. And some of the pieces could already be in another’s hand’s and he wouldn’t know that.
Gravity-drawn shoulders and a brooding expression depicted on the Pharaoh’s face, painting a picture of dejection. He sighs, turning about to take his leave as one of the assistants reach Kaiba to mention about a certain visitor wanting to connect with him regarding something important.
