BCB Albums, ranked by Sad Gay energy
I did it track by track, and then added a vibe fudge factor. Here we go:
Brandi Carlile - the OG. One of the mother sad gay albums of the 00s
Returning to Myself - yeah. I'm scared.
By the Way, I Forgive You - there's some not sad gay material here, but it is absolutely suplexed by shear SG of Party of One
Give Up the Ghost - Really almost too rock forward to be SG, but there are bright moments like the excellent back to back of I Will and Before It Breaks, and the forehead kiss of Oh Dear. Some excellent straight while SG in Touching the Ground.
The Story - this album is so well constructed, and really carries on the legacy of BC so well. Weighed down by Losing Heart and the Turpentine to Wasted run which is certainly sad, but not really SG material.
The Firewatcher's Daughter - burdened by purpose. Alibi and Blood, Muscle, Skin & Bone are nearly completely devoid of SG energy, but it's balanced by I Belong to You and the heaviness of Murder in the City, as well as the under-appreciated excellence in the form in Heroes and Songs
Bear Creek - boy is this a sad album. A Promise to Keep and Raise Hell struggle to buoy the SG energy.
In These Silent Days - You and Me on the Rock is too happy for this album to be any higher on the list.
haikyu staff couldn't pass on peak soulmatism, bokuaka and the bokuaka shippers hold too much power I fear
This mf after putting “lights out baby” for every answer on the census
