Chilling Adventures of a Director with a Huge Hard-On for Hating Non-Binaries, Trans, and Gay People and Forcing Horrendous Situations Upon Them.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is NOT A SHOW that portrays people of non-binary or Trans identity in a wonderfully represented light. It shows Suzy go through so much horror, hardship, and abuse, without at all acknowledging what has happened to them, without at all trying to properly address and fix the situation. Instead when these things happen to Susie, when they have a busted lip, when they are sexually assaulted, when they ARE CALLED A MONSTER, A SICK PERSON, AN ABOMINATION, Susie’s response is to wear A DRESS, TO TRY AND MAKE IT ALL BETTER. What kind of message does that send? That it is okay to be bullied, ridiculed, and abused, so badly, that the only way to fix the issue is to be the gender assigned at birth, and WEAR A DRESS TO MAKE EVERYONE ELSE HAPPY?
Let’s also bring up the other elephant in the room, Susie’s Uncle Jessie, who is possessed by a demon of GLUTTONY(?why?) and is implied to have mental health issues. Let’s talk about the demon, who says “It’s so nice and warm and sinful in here.” that Jessie is a “Sodomite” and that essentially, it is a sin to be gay, while tied up to a bed, waiting to be exorcised.. NICE REPRESENTATION. If that wasn’t bad enough, after they exorcise and save Jessie, Witch comes in with a voodoo doll and CRUSHES Jessie to death, horrifically and horribly killing him, while all being apart of “THE DARK LORDS PLAN.”. If this is supposed to be “representation” for people of Trans and Non-binary gender, and for the LGBTQ, then why, does it seem like to me, THE SHOW HAS A HARD-ON for everything wrong with CHRISTIANITY AND RELIGION. It is almost like a THEY ARE LETTING RELIGIOUS VIEWS dictate what is happening in this show, and JUSTIFYING IT with all being apart of “The Dark Lords plan.” Yea no, fuck this show, fuck the bullshit, narrow mindedness of the people who wrote the script, who let their religious bias take over what happens to these people, and most of all fuck the director, who thought it was okay to do this, to do these things, to characters who are supposed to REPRESENT Non-binary and Trans, and Gay people.
Don’t even get me started on having an 18 year old actress playing a 16 year old is constantly shown half-naked or naked with JUST ENOUGH NOT SHOWN.
It’s totally okay in the first episode for Susie to be sexually assaulted and nothing is done about it right? That even the show writes it off? FUCK. THIS. SHOW.
