The thing that I love about potc is that so many things come full circle. Will makes a sword for Norrington, Will becomes a hero, Norrington loses everything, Will becomes a fugitive, Norrington redeems himself in the eyes of England and gets the sword Will made for him back, Elizabeth and Norrington meet again, Norrington is killed by Will's father, Davy Jones takes the sword, Davy Jones realizes Elizabeth is the woman Will is in love with and then kills Will with the sword he made for Norrington all those years ago. And just like Will and Elizabeth's story mirrored Davy Jones' and Calypso's, Will replaces Davy Jones as captain of the Flying Dutchman, and is doomed to only ever see the love of his life once every ten years, Elizabeth, the woman Norrington asked to marry him in the first movie.
