saturday morning / 11:53am {chapter 2 - part 4}

“oh my gosh, that’s horrible, i-i’m so sorry!”  “yeah, she broke up with me on our anniversary. you know, actually right after your flowers were delivered to her office. she called me and asked to meet up and... that’s when it happened.” Milo takes a deep breath and looks around the shop. 

“but enough of that. that wasn’t the reason i came by here, i just wanted to thank you again.” he shifts his weight onto his other foot and meets Luna’s eyes, “people aren’t that kind nowadays.”

Luna breaks a smile and looks to the ground, thinking for a quick millisecond on how to react to this slightly awkward and random encounter, “it’s no problem, i was just doing my job, and we were still open after all.” 

“this shop, did you start this up yourself? it’s beautiful.”  “oh, no, no. this was my grandmother’s... she passed away a long time ago. after she passed, two of her long-time friends kept after the shop until they too passed. that was four years ago and i’ve taken over this place since. but thank you, my grandmother would have appreciated that.” 

“i’m just going to apologize in advance if this is so straight-forward, but i would really like to continue this conversation in another fashion, say, over coffee, maybe?”
