Hi, I created a Pinterest Gijinka that I named Pinterest-chan in 2018!!!
It's a simple idea anyone could come up with!!
People probably even came up with it before me!! people have been making gijinkas based on anything for as long as I can even remember.
Idk why there's even drama about this. NO I wasn't blackmailed, what would I even be black mailed about?? I'm making this post because I WANT to. >.<
Anyone can make an oc based on Pinterest and call it pinterest-chan. No one has to ask me or anyone permission to do that. It's an idea you made up for free in your brain, how can you even ask permission to have an idea?? xD
I've read some of the posts people make here about it and I think it's crazy!!!! it's just an art idea! No one owns that idea. That's why they're ideas! If anyone tried to tell you you're not "allowed" to make something as silly as a pinterest gijinka, and name it "pinterest-chan", just ignore em. Idk how it even got this serious over Pinterest.. it's just a website. Nothing worth dying over xDD So pls, have some rationality. I made a pinterest Gijinka before whoever is claiming they "own" the idea even made theirs. And I say anyone can make a pinterest gijinka and name it Pinterest-chan.
Silly that even needs to be said xD like cmon guys
i'm so annoyed. I had this all written out only to read back over it, not like the ending and deciding, no I have to rewrite it not realizing just how much I would have to rewrite for the ending i want to do now and... idk i got pretty far in the rewrites but i can't do more tonight. all that to say, this is an unfinished chapter and as such ends abruptly in the middle of it just as a heads up. so yeah, i'll keep up on the rewrites and if i finish them i'll post the chap on sunday along with the usual poll.
okay enough of me yapping

"This was a bad idea."
"Stop saying that!" Buck rolled his eyes at Eddie, going to cross his arms before quickly remembering his suit. He couldn't wrinkle it, Maddie would kill him. "I'm going to think you think it's a bad idea specifically because I'm here."
Eddie looked at him, aghast as if the very thought was appalling and offending. "You're not the problem here." He stopped, considered his words for a second before admitting in a mumble, "Well, you kind of are." He pinned Buck with his stare as he slowly looked him up and down. Buck tried not to squirm, feeling his gaze as if it was a physical touch. When they locked eyes again, Buck bit his lip at the look in Eddie's eyes. "You never told me how... stunning you are in a suit."
Buck felt his face heat as he glanced away, shyly bumping his shoulder against Eddie's. It felt a little crazy to him that this would be the thing that made him coy but. It was. Because at the end of the day, that's what Buck was so excited for with Eddie. The intimacy in a crowded room, just for them. And he would love it even more once the casual affection no longer had to be quiet.
They were at -
Well, for some reason, Eddie was refusing to call it a ball even though it was in the name -
"I don't care, Buck. It just sounds so ridiculous. I'm not a 'ball' or 'gala' person."
Which Buck had strongly disagreed with but he wasn't getting into that argument again. And definitely not with the Eddie in his head. That always veered into Not Safe For Work territory. No. He was not going to embarrass him at this fancy firefighter's ball.
Everyone was dressed to the nines. Eddie looked downright sinful in his dress uniform. So, really - "Like you're one to talk. Have you seen you?"
He grinned back at Buck, nudging his shoulder back before resting it there. Buck desperately wanted to hold his hand. Rest his head on Eddie's. Turn toward him, toward the line of heat he was providing, press closer and absorb it -
But he couldn't. He couldn't for another month that was going by so slowly.
And he really couldn't under the watchful eye of Hen and Karen. Every time they caught his eye, like they knew exactly what he was thinking. He always was the first to look away. This time was no exception as he quickly turned, taking in the fancy ballroom they were in.
"No. Do I look like some sort of Disney prince to you?"
Buck could not answer that question. He knew right away where that was gonna go so he quickly shut down the argument.
Later, Fake Eddie.
He really needed to stop talking to himself.
He let out a whistle as the orchestra started playing. His eyes moved from them, up to the chandelier sparkling from the ceiling. The lights glimmered softly off the walls like diamonds. Servers were expertly weaving around the crowd of fancy firefighters and their fancy guests and - "I don't think I've ever been anywhere this fancy." He really needed to stop with the word fancy, too. He looked back at Eddie. "I didn't think Firefighter's Balls were like, a real thing."
Eddie rolled his eyes at Buck's emphasis but didn't comment on it, not wanting to give Buck the satisfaction of his reaction. That was fine. He would win this battle. "Yeah, they're good fundraising events. But man, can they be stuffy. It depends on who plans them." Buck wanted to ask more about that but what Eddie said next completely stopped him in his tracks. "I'm just glad I was able to wiggle my way out of being auctioned tonight."
Buck felt his brain sort of restart at that. "Auctioned?"
"Yeah, for some sort of service. Usually it's car washing. Sometimes a VIP tour around a station. A ride in a firetruck."
Oh. "Those don't sound so bad."
"Yeah. But those aren't the ones they wanted me for."
Another restart. "What?"
"Edmundo Diaz!"
Eddie smiled wryly at Buck as a short, brunette woman hurried over. She had an excited grin on her face. Eddie gave her a polite smile back. "Isa."
Her face was desperate as she practically begged, "Please tell me you've changed your mind about the auction tonight. Roger just dropped out."
Eddie genuinely looked apologetic as he smiled at the woman - Isa. "I'm sorry, I just don't feel comfortable with it. Besides, I'm here with somebody." He gestured over at Buck, his hand knocking against his arm, slow in its descent down and away, at least to Buck and -
Oh. She was staring at him.
When she was talking to Eddie, she had looked pretty dejected but now -
Buck wasn't sure he liked that look in her eye.
"Oh. You would work, too. You a firefighter?" She asked, looking him up and down. It wasn't really anything lustful or intimate. More... assessing.
"Uh. No." Buck gave her a confused smile, squirming slightly as she squinted at him. "I'm sorry, what's happening?"
"For the date auction!" Her gaze turned warm and inviting. The switch was weird to witness and Buck had no idea what to make of it. "Eddie won't do it, which is fine, we respect his boundaries and everything. But now we're down a person. And while we usually want firefighters, with your body... I don't think anyone would complain." Her gaze was back to assessing. He glanced over at Eddie, still confused. Eddie just had a growing sour expression as he stared straight ahead, clenching his jaw.
Oh.
Buck knew what that was.
He had to bite the inside of his cheek as he turned his attention back to Isa. "What would this date auction require?"
Eddie's head snapped up. "You aren't actually considering -"
"Oh, nothing much!" Isa waved a hand, sweet smile on her face. "People will bid on you to win a two hour date with you. You'll with them meet beforehand with our people there to work out the details. Where it is, what you do, things like that." She hummed, squinting a little in thought. "But you should make sure to talk it over with any partner you might have. I've seen way too many fights over simple miscommunications like you wouldn't believe." The look in her eye had Buck believing that wholeheartedly.
And while she was right, she didn't know his partner was right there. She couldn't know. He had to grit out through a forced grin that probably looked like a grimace, "I. Um. Don't have a partner." He didn't - couldn't - look at Eddie.
"You're kidding! Well, then you have to join now! Who knows? You might meet the person of your dreams!"
Buck did look over at Eddie then, already staring right back at him. The gleam in his eyes was surely reflected in Buck's own. The same thought, shared silently across the short distance between them.
I already have.
It was fun to rile Eddie up - especially when he was jealous. It made him feel less insane - or. Maybe just not alone in it. But this? Actually going on a date with a person? For two hours? Yeah, it sounded safe and all that, but he didn't want to lead anyone on.
Not to mention that was two hours of his free time that he could be spending with Eddie.
He rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't know if this is for me. It sounds fun but I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea."
"It's an auctioned date." She waved her hand with a small smile, other hand clutching her clipboard harder. She seemed desperate to seal the deal, even if she was trying to hide it. "Everyone knows what that entails, and like I said, you can work out the details together. If anyone breaks those previously agreed upon terms, they will get a lifetime ban with no refund."
"Does the refund really matter?"
She nodded emphatically, curls bouncing. "Oh yeah. These dates can go for a lot." She eyed him again which Buck was starting to get real tired of. "Someone would pay big money to spend an evening with you."
He felt himself blushing as he bit the inside of his cheek. "Uh, thank you. But I don't think I can do it. Sorry to get your hopes up."
Isa glanced between him and Eddie. "Oh. Is it because..." She flicked her finger between the two of them.
"No!" They both practically shouted at the same time before looking at each other in alarm.
Eddie was the first to recover, blinking wide eyes at Buck before turning jerkily back to Isa with a smooth grin. "No, why would you think that?" Buck could see the corner of his eye twitching, the only real tell that he was lying. Buck doubted anyone would notice, and the only reason he could was because he was staring so intensely and he should really look away -
"No particular reason." Isa's voice shocked Buck back to her, back to reality and away from Eddie's hypnotizing eyes - "Only that." Right. Reality. She pointed at Buck who blinked back at her. The corner of her mouth twitched as she continued, "He seemed into it, then looked at you," she turned to Eddie, mouth definitely a smirk now, "who every clearly did not want him to do it. And... I don't know. Just seems kinda obvious." She finished with a shrug.
Buck glanced at Eddie, who nodded once. Buck felt his eyebrows raise. He couldn't seriously be -
"We aren't together," Eddie said forcefully as his shoulders stiffened. His whole body stiffened. "He just knows I think it's ridiculous. But I'm sure he's more than willing to do it. Right, Buck?" His eyes were screaming, Trust me.
So he did.
"Yeah. Yeah, if I can help -"
Isa still looked a little unconvinced, brow furrowed as her eyes darted from Buck to Eddie and back again. "Seriously. If you guys are together, it's fine. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable -"
"It's fine, really." Buck felt more sure as he reassured Isa. He had wanted to help Isa out from the beginning but he didn't want to do that to Eddie. But it looked like Eddie had figured out some sort of plan so. He could trust him.
Isa gave both of them one last look before shrugging with a bright smile. "Well, okay then! Follow me... Buck, was it?"
"Evan." He rubbed the back of his neck a little as he followed her. He glanced over his shoulder at Eddie again, who smiled back with a small wave. Buck returned it, turning back to Isa with a stronger grin. "Evan Buckley, but everyone who knows me just calls me Buck."
"Ooh, that's good! We can use that!" She led him through a side door behind a curtain in the ballroom. It led to a quiet hallway, which was the only reprieve he was given before being thrust into a blur.
People talking to him, tugging at his hair, his suit, his face. They would put some makeup on, only to take some off, only to put more back on -
All the while, question after question from Isa.
"What do you do for work?"
"I'm a teacher."
"Oh, how sweet! What grade?"
"Fourth."
"The bidders are gonna love that. Hobbies?"
"Oh man, I like a little of everything - ow!"
"Okay, but name like three."
"I-I guess, cooking, spending time with family, and I just recently got into sewing."
