So I see you’re blogging about how sad Arwen’s death is, so feel free to answer whenever you’re up to it:
This might seem a little silly… I’ve been having a recurring daydream about getting isakai’d to Middle Earth. Unfortunately, I’m not sure exactly how well that would go in practice; Middle Earth is mostly wilderness and monsters, and aside from finding Gandalf and hoping he has a solution I wouldn’t super know where to start. What factors would maximize my chances of surviving a sudden arrival in Middle Earth?
If you know you're in the First Age: if you see a tall man who is the most beautiful guy you've ever seen in your life, there's a slim chance that's Turin - immediately run in the opposite direction. I don't know if this will ensure you'll live but statistically speaking, hanging out with Turin ensures you'll die. Overreacting is better than underreacting.
Otherwise: I don't think I know!! I keep thinking "what if--oh no that's no guarantee :/" If this is the Third Age, maybe try and find one of the Dunedain? But how to go about doing that???
Okay, here's the plan!
If you're near a realm, go to one of their cities. You may still die but it's less dangerous than the wild. In general, you don't want to be isolated.
If you've got no idea where you are and you can't see anyone you can ask... Maybe follow the sun and go west? Again, you might still die, but if you don't know where you are and if you don't know what year it is, generally speaking, westward is the safest direction to walk.
As you walk, try to befriend animals. Use fairy tale logic to figure out which ones are evil and avoid those, though.
Call on Elbereth, maybe? At best you get some help, at worst nothing happens.
If at any point you feel moved to sing, 9/10 times that's a great idea. Please do that
If you meet someone and they're singing, especially if they're singing about Good Things, you'll probably be better off trusting them than not
If you get in trouble and it's not the kind of trouble where making no noises will ensure your survival, then screaming for help is often a good idea, actually
