Ahem…
Rebel!Riddle taking a selfie after pestering his beloved boyfriend, Tattoo&PiercingAddict!Silver, for weeks. It took weeks because Silver doesn’t understand selfies, but understands that Riddle being happy makes his life worth living-
When the character who’s always put together actually looks disheveled so you know this is about to get devastating
Okay rant time about davey jacobs because he’s so complex and great.
1- his CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IS GOATED.
First, a common mischaracterization is that he started as a shy and quiet and anxious type. This isn’t completely true. He was very hell capable of speaking for himself. He’s respectful and less sociable NOT shy. Now his character development is really good because it’s not to much. It’s doesn’t completely change him. He grows rather than shapeshifts.
2- his good qualities that show. He trust Jack, but also has boundariesz this is the same with the other newsies too. Then his respect. He’s organized and wants guidelines in the strike. His complexity is shown by NOT BREAKING CHARACTER.
3- family matters with him. In a lot of “found family” type movies real family is a side note. But both in Broadway and 1992sies, he’s constantly refering to his parents and Les. Les especially. He keeps that annoying older brother vibe but also caring.
I could go ON AND ON about Davey. This is just some
Hahaha just finished Return of the King (book) (no I haven’t seen the movie yet) (I’ve been watching them as I finish the books) and By God. By God Can I Cry.
Yeah sure Sam realizing that Frodo was leaving started the water works, but what REALLY got me was Merry and Pippin riding out to meet him on the shore with a “you almost pulled this trick on us once, but this time it was Gandalf who told us your scheme!” Was just.
THE PARALLEL to the beginning of the series where they were like “we’re your friends, you won’t let you go through this alone” to “we won’t let you leave without saying goodbye.” Like. Book Merry and Pippin mean so much to me, it’s INSANE.
this may legitimately be my favorite youtube comment ever
Let this be your lesson to not go all out (or do the best you can) for those who wouldn’t bother to do the same for you. I was supposed to have four people over last night, and not a single person bothered to tell me they were not coming or that they couldn’t make it even after they told me they were so excited about coming and I did all I could to help them with parking and getting here in one piece. But instead I was ghosted instead up by those four people. needless to say I do not talk to them anymore. Nor will I reach out.
After giving so much of myself, my time, effort, and money, this is how I am fucking repaid. What stings the most is that I brought my dog down here instead of staying at my parent’s house while my dad is in the hospital. THEY KNEW THIS. Kick me when I’m down, why don’t you? This is why I continue to have trouble making friends and keeping them. I don’t know who to trust and put all of my trust into the wrong people.
Rant over. Thanks for listening
thinking about how andy and nile are set to be opposites right from the begining. thinking about how andy’s character is built upon on how old she is and how tired she has become, while nile is the “baby” of the group. full of fight and questions and fire. thinking about how andy is always dressed in monochrome tones while nile’s clothes are usually more colorful. how nile uses her religion for strength, and how andy doesn’t belive in god anymore. how nile uses her necklace as a source of comfort, while andy uses hers as a way of grief and to remind herself of what she lost. thinking of nile sharing a nightmare with people she had met the day before and andy not telling those same people that she is dying, even though they have been her family for centuries or more. nile’s “why” to andy’s “don’t look for the reason because it won’t change anything”. nile’s proximity to her family and her strong desire to be with them, grasping her phone with a picture of her mother and brother to andy’s quiet “i don’t remember what their faces look like”. and mostly i’m thinking about how all of that makes it even more heartbreaking and wonderful that in the end nile is the one who breaks through andy’s slumber and brings her to life again.
