Twisted Wonderland
================================================
NRC students fear parents teacher meeting more than exams.
oh this is CANON-ADJACENT TERROR. exams are nothing. parents–teacher meetings are where reputations go to die.
NRC students do not fear exams.
exams are predictable. you fail, you retake. you cry a little. life goes on.
parents–teacher meetings, however, are psychological warfare.
because unlike exams, these involve:
adults who raised you
adults who taught you
adults comparing notes
and NRC is a school where those notes are damning.
the general atmosphere
the announcement alone causes chaos.
Crowley cheerfully declares, “Ah yes! A chance for guardians to see how wonderfully their children are thriving!”
the NRC group chat IMMEDIATELY lights up:
THIS IS WORSE THAN MIDTERMS DO THEY KNOW ABOUT THE INCIDENT WHICH ONE ALL OF THEM
students start stress-cleaning memories. lies are rehearsed. some people consider fleeing the country.
Dorm leaders, specifically, are not okay.
❤️ Heartslabyul — Riddle Rosehearts
Riddle is composed. Perfect posture. Immaculate uniform.
internally? screaming.
his mother arrives with a notebook thicker than Crowley’s ethics.
the teachers try to praise him:
top scores
leadership
discipline
his mother nods. unimpressed.
then a teacher casually adds, “Though he does have… strong reactions to rule violations.”
Riddle’s mother smiles.
“Of course he does,” she says. “I trained him myself.”
Riddle realizes—too late—that this meeting is not for him.
it is for the teachers.
Heartslabyul staff leave questioning their own classroom management skills.
Riddle exits with more rules than he entered with.
🦁 Savanaclaw — Leona Kingscholar
Leona does not attend.
he sends Ruggie.
this fails.
his brother attends instead. smiling. charming. devastating.
teachers list concerns:
chronic lateness
sleeping in class
“lack of motivation”
his brother sighs fondly.
“Oh yes,” he says. “He’s always been like that. Brilliant, of course. Just… allergic to effort.”
Leona, listening from outside, experiences rage previously thought impossible.
the meeting ends with his brother thanking the teachers for “putting up with him.”
Leona does not speak for the rest of the day.
🐙 Octavinelle — Azul Ashengrotto
Azul shows up early. prepared. binder in hand.
his mother arrives with snacks for the teachers.
this is already humiliating.
the teachers praise his business sense, leadership, intelligence—
then someone mentions stress.
Azul’s mother gasps.
“Is he overworking himself?” she asks, horrified.
Azul shakes his head violently.
too late.
the meeting turns into a group intervention about rest, health, and “being kinder to yourself.”
Azul leaves with:
leftovers
a hug
instructions to sleep eight hours
Jade and Floyd watch this happen like it’s live theater.
🌞 Scarabia — Kalim Al-Asim
Kalim’s guardians arrive in numbers. plural.
they bring gifts. money. apologies.
teachers attempt to explain:
excessive generosity
distractions
parties
the guardians beam.
“Yes,” they say proudly. “He is very kind.”
Jamil sits in the back, already dead inside.
when Jamil’s guardian meeting happens, the teachers speak carefully.
too carefully.
everyone is tense.
everyone survives.
barely.
🎭 Pomefiore — Vil Schoenheit
Vil’s guardian meeting is a performance review.
teachers are nervous.
Vil is calm.
his guardian listens. nods. asks sharp questions about curriculum quality.
Rook takes notes.
Epel’s meeting, however—
his family shows up in boots.
teachers blink.
Epel stares at the floor.
someone mentions “image training.”
his family squints.
“Is he behaving?”
“…yes?”
“Good.”
Epel has never felt more validated.
🦇 Diasomnia — Malleus Draconia
no one knows how this meeting was approved.
Malleus arrives with Lilia.
this is already a disaster.
teachers attempt professionalism.
compliments only. ONLY COMPLIMENTS.
Lilia interrupts constantly.
“Oh yes, he’s been doing that for centuries.” “Ah, I remember when he accidentally summoned lightning indoors.” “Children mature so slowly now, don’t they?”
Malleus listens sincerely.
takes notes.
thanks the teachers for “their bravery.”
the room needs repairs afterward.
💀 the aftermath
Crowley sends out a follow-up email titled: “What a Success!”
students are changed people.
the group chat renames itself:
WE SURVIVED THE MEETING
final verdict?
NRC students would rather:
retake finals
fight an overblot
eat Lilia’s cooking
than ever sit through another parents–teacher meeting.
because exams test your knowledge.
those meetings test your entire childhood.
