YES. Yes. Definitely. Plus, role reversal. I think Sam also needs someone TO protectively cuddle, and Gadreel needs someone who'll watch his fucking back for once, so this'd be a perfect arrangement. Sam's so overprotected and he needs to feel he has control, and what could possibly be more providing than being able to provide shelter for an honest to God guardian angel and see him trust you enough to sleep?
But the angst potential. Like they've more or less gotten past the whole possession thing but Sam doesn't feel safe enough to sleep until Gadreel is asleep. And Gadreel just thinks Sam takes forever to fall asleep because of everything else and has no idea Sam still views at least partially as a threat
