The end of September was nearing as Kurapika was healing and the miracle duo were training. Leorio was glad for a bit of peace and quiet with Killua, Gon, and Kurapika before he knew he would have to part ways with his friends for god knows how long.

Kurapika was getting better, and Leorio did have a lot to do with that, but Leorio had so much to thank Melody for. Well, he already had, but he wanted to do it once or twice more.

Leorio sighed and plopped down onto a chair next to Kurapika. The Kurta was stirring, probably just waking up. Leorio let out a soft smile that he tried to hide as his friend opened his eyes.

"Hey, Kurapika. It's nearly eight. Do you want something to eat? We've got some fresh bread-" Leorio started.

A sleepy Kurapika denied his offer. "Eight, huh. That nap was much longer than anticipated," he forced a smile. "I'm going to be leaving here tomorrow morning- I'd better get ready." He attempted to sit up, but immediately felt dizzy and his vision blurred.

Stunned but worried about his friend's wellness, Leorio countered "Kurapika! Watch out, you're still not completely well!" He paused. "And what about Gon and Killua? They're about to leave looking for Gon's father" - he mumbled 'bastard' under his breath - "will you say your goodbyes to them?"

Kurapika looked to the window on his left, not wanting to face Leorio. "No, I won't. But there's no reason to say goodbye because no one is going to die. We are going to see each other again. Plus, I wouldn't want them to get distracted from their training. They're working hard."

Leorio huffed. "Yeah. Yeah, you're probably right. I won't tell them."

"Thank you, Leorio. You truly are a reliable" - he muttered the word old just loud enough for Leorio to hear - "man."

Smiling, Leorio thanked Kurapika before what he said dawned on him. "Damn it, Kurapika!" Kurapika let out a smile. It was small, but Leorio noticed it. Like a speck of sunshine in a dreary wintry town. "Just promise me that you'll call. That you'll answer my calls, at least."

"Yeah."
