kaz - i have a whole post about this, but in the original books he quite literally combines rich-middle-aged white man fashion with what is the ketterdam version of being goth. This means that he quite literally makes his own aesthetic and therefore would probably do the same here. I think he would prefer maximalistic goth in his decor and stuff (black, lots of death symbolism, very anti-religion, and goths love crows), but for the sake of his image he would genuinely dress like,,,,,,,,,,,,a normal rich white guy. Just make it all black. 😞 So, Kaz doesn't actually have a modern aesthetic I can REALLY correlate him to, because he would make his own. (Brick by brick including his drip) The closest one i can think of his "business goth" (in other words, goth that has been sanitized so much for professional spaces that's it's not really goth anymore) but that's actually not too far off from his canon clothes anyway.

Inej - im a firm believer that Inej is a whimsycore girl at heart (flowy, muted colours, intricate details, kinda spiritual) but sadly whimsycore is almost entirely skirts and low cut shirts, which for obvious reasons i don't think would be okay with her :( besides, real hard to be active in those clothes anyway. Inej's clothes are specifically for her to blend in and be physically mobile, so I think she would wear darkly coloured, modest active wear. She would blend in easily, and it's literally designed for movement. However, Inej values staying true to herself a lot, so I think that alongside her bland clothes she would still wear pieces of jewelry that mean something to her. They might be of her saints, or remind her of her home, or she might just think they're pretty. Her clothes get the job done, but she can show who she is as a person as well :')

Jesper - his style is described as the brightest colours that no one EXCEPT HIM can pull off, textures of all kinds, but specifically "Barrel Flash" (aka, trendy clothes for the crappiest parts of Ketterdam) so, hear me out hear me out, very colorful streetwear. Think bright pants with patterns, graphic shirts so bright they're almost neon, alternative hats like beanies, baseball overshirts even though he's never played baseball in his life. it should be gaudy, almost cringe, but it is Jesper Lewellyn Fahey - he's pulling it off flawlessly. Kaz and Matthias hate it. Not much to say here, honestly, he's iconic!!! But I should add - ALWAYS has an airpod in. Like, always. Also probably has a Nintendo switch in his bag???? He never ends up using it while he's out, but he says "just in case"

Nina - EARLY 2000S NINA WHO IS WITH ME DOES ANYONE HEARR MEEEE??? It's colourful, (but not as much as Jesper's because shes a little more classy). It's very casually suggestive, but she is clearly dressing for the girls, the gays, and the theys. It also stems from an era of just,,,,how do i get explain it,,,being iconic??? Like the 2000s attitude is SO NINA BRO!! The tank tops, the jeans, the skirts, the hair and the makeup, I just really think she would love it!!! She would be the girl with seventeen lip glosses in her bag at all times, who lends it to random girls in bathrooms and lets them keep it. Plus, the 2000s aesthetic for Nina is semi-canon, since Matthias would find it gaudy and a little sexy, very trendy - he would Hate It™ at first!!! (But he loves it on her after like 10 mins). I wish I could give more explanation for this one, but the vibes were too strong

Wylan - comfy sweaters *bangs on desk* huge headphones *bangs on desk* baggy pants *bangs on desk* chunky sneakers that make him look a little taller *bangs on desk*!!! Wylan always tries to make himself feel more comfortable, he longs for safety, and no clothing gives you that feeling more than oversized, comfy, neutral clothes that you can collapse in bed in. Lots of browns, greys, dark blues. He doesn't want to be noticed, but it's still socially acceptable and the tall sneakers and headphones help him fit in with the more alternative crows a lot easier :) this aesthetic doesn't really have a name as far as I'm aware (it resembles "softboy" but I 1) don't like that name at all and 2) softboy is a little too bright and pastel for what I'm thinking), and I don't think Wylan would care much for how aesthetic his clothes are while he's caught in a criminal underbelly with all his anxieties 😮‍💨

Matthias - picture the cool male youth leader, but make him buff and with the presence of someone who plays golf. Congrats!! You've found Matthias' modern aesthetic!! Unfortunately, Matty is truly not beating anyyy cis straight white man allegations today 😞 he's wearing tons of caps, plain shirts, and shorts.....and that's it. He doesn't like vibrant clothes, he sees clothing as a necessity and that's all - he also would hate gaudy clothes. Nina and Jesper have bought him meme socks and wild hats/shirts for Christmas to tease him. When he dresses up, he's in football merch. I adore my boy,,,,,,,but he is not winning any fashion contests ☝️

absolutely for certain a Ravi Panikkar time loop fic featuring ghost Bobby immediately post Harry finding out about him and May. i have no idea what the win condition would be but i want it to be an absolutely bonkers day for calls that really make you go okay sure. this is la. this might as well happen to me right now. in my time loop. and ghost bobby is like giving good dad advice but ravi is trying to avoid anyone saying anything that might reveal to ghost bobby that he's dating his step-daughter (Bobby already knows and doesn't care and is doing that captaindad thing where he lets people come to their own conclusions about their problems.) Chimney is also in the time loop but he already worked out the win condition and decided that it's a young peoples problem until he realizes the paperwork will never be done.
