First world Chenford writers problems #47 and #48
Yes, today I’m experiencing multiple issues….
While working on a prompt that I was really excited about (yes, I’m still trying to get through prompts!) my muse tried a few different paths. The one it refused to deviate from was its insistence that our two idiots in love wind up in bed.
That in itself is not a problem for me, and I suspect most of everyone reading this post agrees.
Problem #1 is that I’ve never been particularly good at love/sex scenes. I’m either all in and writing things that would make porn stars blush, or taking the 1950’s ‘we can’t show anything on television’ kind of approach. What is common in both of these is my absolute supreme awkwardness in trying to get it on a page.
I attempted something in between, leading into Problem #2. I don’t know if it works or if I should just scrap it and do the 17st (see what I did there?) rewrite.
So I’m putting a call out to anyone following me for volunteers to read approximately 1350 words of potential nonsense and provide feedback.
First 5 to DM me will get this ridiculous attempt sent to them. If you don’t think you can be kind in your honesty please don’t respond.
I’ve been trying to get this done for a week, which happened to be one of the busiest work weeks I’ve had in a while.
I may not respond for a while because I’m off to gym to dance out my frustration, but please be assured I’ll respond in the next few hours.
