☕️☕️☕️ I’m yawning, so time for some afternoon coffee. You know what I like, right? 😏
At least once a day, you find yourself utterly, impossibly, horrifically distracted, and it always comes at the worst possible moment. It is also always caused by the exact same thing, though each time it catches you off guard.
Yesterday, while researching werewolf hybrids in the Library, you looked up and got stuck in the majestic crystal, the lamp light picking up a brown hue that you’d never noticed before. It was almost golden, this thread of color that wove it’s way through the brightness, stealing your gaze and locking you to it. Even when Sam blinked, you couldn’t look away, wondering if the universe inside his hazel eyes was truly spinning or if you’d just imagined it.
“Y/N?” Sam’s voice was laced with embarrassment when he caught you staring again. “Helloo...”
A wave of his hand brought you back into yourself, and you sucked in a deep breath, tearing your eyes from his. “What? Sorry!”
“Are you OK?” he laughed, kind smile easing your nerves.
“Yeah, sorry.” Quickly trying to change the subject, you picked up your book and read a random line out loud, hoping Sam would forget your odd behavior.
It wasn’t always like that though, sometimes he didn’t notice you looking, couldn’t feel your gaze bleeding into his. But it was always the same for you- some random fleck of color pulling you deep into his beautiful eyes, holding you hostage until something came along to smack you out of it.
A thousand shooting stars and birthday wishes were spent on him, wishing he would look at you the same way, turn his eyes to you in love so that you could stare for as long as you wanted. But Sam was just too beautiful, too kind and generous, smart and amazing. Much too wonderful to ever want someone like you. So, you held your tongue and kept on staring. Besides, there was an entire galaxy of color to sort through, a whole world within his beautiful eyes to explore.
